Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I was looking over the specialty beer list @ CBW earlier... Quite a few beers I want to try....
Ichabod's Revenge sounds like the pumpkin stout from the description so in theory they should still have it.

Also, speaking of CBW, if you hadn't heard, it recently won the Best Large Brewpub / Brewer of the Year awards at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/pittsburg ... 00403.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I guess Steve Sloan returned at the top of his game at the start of the year.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
My only complaint about Church Brew works is that their non rotating beers aren't any good. There's no reason thunderhop shouldn't be on all the time. Otherwise, it's an overall awesome establishment.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
didn't even know they were allowed to make PBR light, seems like it takes all the fun out out of PBR.
True or False: A case of PBR Light will be a welcome addition to my sons 1st bday partay this weekend?

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Troy Loney was watching the Stiller game with some friends on sunday, one of said friends got up to make a beer run to the fridge, everyone in room commenced to ask for a beer, she came back with some of the PBRs she brought in a plastic bag...got to Troy Loney who stared at the bag and made a disapproving no. She returned the remaining PBR back to the fridge and brought Troy Loney one of his Thunderhops. Troy Loney made sure that she knew he was appaled at the idea of drinking a PBR.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
no, that answer is False, didn't pass that one. You never go for the light option on something like that, if it was your daughters 21st birthday, then maybe you'd have some room to talk. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the Pabst Brewing Company doesn't even brew PBR light.canaan wrote:True or True, you meaneddysnake wrote:didn't even know they were allowed to make PBR light, seems like it takes all the fun out out of PBR.

False. a light substitute no matter how abhorrent that choice may be, is better than no alternative given. you, sir, are awarded no points.eddysnake wrote:no, that answer is False, didn't pass that one. Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Two new tastes this week. A bottle of Sam Adams Stony Brook Red. Champagne cork (ooooooooo, fancy) and heavy bottle. Barrel aged ale, with a nice red color. First taste was total puck sour, not what I was expecting, with a light hint of fruity sweetness from the barrel. A very good outing for Sam Adams.
Simtra, from Knee Deep Brewing. Labeled as a Triple IPA, with 131 IBU's. HOP BOMB! Just upon opening you smell the fresh piney hops. High alcohol content with great flavor.

False. You should at least let him sample a Belgian ale before a PBR.eddysnake wrote:didn't even know they were allowed to make PBR light, seems like it takes all the fun out out of PBR.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Got the sampler @ CBW
Was disappointed in the pumpkin stout... Didn't really taste pumpkin tbh, just the spices
Octoberfest was good... Hoptoberfest even better.
Red Nebyllek saison was solid.
Also had Celestial Gold, Pipe Organ Pale Ale, Pious Monk Dunkel and Thunderhop.
CG is lame, PO and PM are decent, not great. Not huge into TH... Too piney for my liking.... Especially compared to the Hoptoberfest.
Pizza is so damn good... <3
