Yeah, I think the Whole Foods will be the clincher. They have mix and match options which was the one thing that OftR still had going for it over Market District.meecrofilm wrote:I think it's only a matter of time ever since the Market District right by it started selling beer. Although I get the impression it's been a tad better recently than it has before, though it really couldn't have gotten much worse short of an immediate collapse. The fridges are still depressing, haha. Obviously not too optimistic about it.

Smiling Moose in South Side had Dogfish 120 on tap last night.
Similar to Columbia's experience with the Ommegang Abbey Ale, my morning is not so great. Not terrible, but not really great.

Chatoe Rogue Dirtoir Black Lager. Very strong woodsy malt attack, smooth finish. Good schwarzbier.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Finally made it to the Whole Foods that recently opened up today. Didn't have a few of the things I was hoping for (KBS among them), but had some good choices. My selections:
Black Boss Porter
Foothills People's Porter
Southern Tier Creme Brûlée
Southern Tier Porter
Dragon's Milk Stout
Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout
Back in Black Black IPA (can)
Not sure yet what I'll be having tonight.

Sorry, MWB - if you're looking for KBS you're going to have to wait until March. Founder's releases it once a year. Their regular breakfast stout is available now in much greater quantities than KBS.

Think that's been mentioned before. Thanks. They didn't have the regular breakfast stout either.UVM2003 wrote:Sorry, MWB - if you're looking for KBS you're going to have to wait until March. Liked the black IPA I got. Nice balance of hops and malts. I've liked the few black IPAs I've had. Not as impressed with the Southern Tier porter. A bit bland.

Had Nebraska Brewing Company's Wick fot Brains pumpkin ale last night last night. There's only 10 barrels of it in western PA. It was alright as far a pumpkin beers go. A little light for my taste though.

Just had Sly Fox Oktoberfest on tap at Piper's. Very good IMO. A lot lighter than other Oktoberfests that I have had.
Also had Great Lakes Nosferatu, also enjoyed it very much.

It's pretty darn good. It's also a great beer for topping off IPAs, if you're into that sort of thing.
