Modo to have a press conference tomorrow. Probably to announce Pahlsson's coming home.

Ex-Penguin Chris Beech to HC Pardubice (Czech Extraleague). One-year contract negotiated by his agent (and another member of "Jagr's 3"), Michal Sivek!!!

Pardubice also signed Pavel Brendl.

Conditional (if NHL) does not start:
Joe Thorton and Rick Nash to HC Davos
New contracts:
Miro Satan - tryout contract with Slovan Bratislava (KHL)
Petr Nedved - return to HC Liberec (Czech EL); will also get equity in the team
Martin Rucinsky - return to HC Litvinov (Czech EL)
Boris Valabik - contract with Kometa Brno (Czech EL)
Joe Thorton and Rick Nash to HC Davos

Re: 2012-13 non-NHL transaction thread
Is that real and final pending a lockout?

Re: 2012-13 non-NHL transaction thread
which one? Thorton and Nash will play in SUI if the NHL is in a lockout. Everybody else signed real contracts.

Yeha I didn't doubt the latter 4 haha. If they lockout for like a month what happens? Do you know?

Re: 2012-13 non-NHL transaction thread
I just found a short paragraph on hokej.cz . Internets have more:
https://www.google.com/search?q=nash+th ... 90&bih=803" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but Dregger claims Nash would not go:

Yeah I just saw that from Dregger. That could mean he has no agreement in place as of yet though, doesn't seem that far out of the realm of possibility that he goes.

Re: 2012-13 non-NHL transaction thread
Last time the lockout happened, many NHLers went to Europe; almost all had an out-clause. I think the Dregger tween is mostly about the agent protecting the player. I don't think it speaks well about the players' intentions to negotiate with the NHL in good faith if they officially started to talk these side deals at the same time.

Its an interesting concept. Players playing elsewhere before negotiations are complete. I think it will have a two fold effect.Tomas wrote:Last time the lockout happened, many NHLers went to Europe; almost all had an out-clause. 1. That player will take heat from fans if they announce it early and possibly even other players.
2. The teams will realize that players will sit, but make money elsewhere while owners lose money with lockout.
