Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
Vinnie must have a massive bonus in his contract for saying the station name. He says it like once every ten seconds.

The fan morning show has dipped to a new low with their "señor splits" segment complete with mariachi band music in the background.

I would say Joe Starkey ending every sentence with "yes?"DudeMan2766 wrote:What would you say is said more on a daily basis:
Vinnie saying the stations name
Josh Miller saying "I hear what you're sayin"
Fan callers saying "yeah dat last guy kinda stole my thunder"
or
Joe Starky saying "Craigers"

Also callers asking how the host is doing before the call and the host being annoyed (Giannotti, Filajabroni)

also annoying:
pirate fans who have to preface every single call declaring their undying loyalty to the pirates. its like they try to prove their frandom. example:
"Joe from Esplen, yer up here next on 93.7 t he fan
"hey guyz i just wanted to tell you im sooooo happy for the pahrats. ive been a diehard ever since i went to school with pie traynors illegitmate son. there have been rough years but i stuck by em no matter what......"

What does sticking through it with the pirates entail? Not dying?

The first 30 seconds of the call is recalling players and dates so they can claim they've been around longer than anyone else.

I'd rather Colin Dunlap just not be on the radio at all.

Compared to most of the guys on that station, Dunlap is pretty good. That may or may not be saying much, but I think him and Mueller are their 2 best. At some point in time, they were on together, and it was great radio, IMO.JS© wrote:By Dunlap, you mean Filaponi, right?TheGhostofGoulet wrote:I'd rather Colin Dunlap just not be on the radio at all.

Actually the annoying part is callers asking, especially when it's the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc consecutive caller to ask ... callers should be instructed by the screener to NOT do that but, hey, what do I know?jimjom wrote:Also callers asking how the host is doing before the call and the host being annoyed (Giannotti, Filajabroni)

They don't have a screener.Ned Braden wrote:Actually the annoying part is callers asking, especially when it's the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc consecutive caller to ask ... callers should be instructed by the screener to NOT do that but, hey, what do I know?jimjom wrote:Also callers asking how the host is doing before the call and the host being annoyed (Giannotti, Filajabroni)

I just heard the end of it but it was pretty foul. Bucs in the pennant race, Steeler training camp, Olympic wrapup and they're talking about urinating in the shower.DudeMan2766 wrote:Please, do tell...PghSkins wrote:Low point in the fan's short history: August 13, 2012: the peeing in the shower show.

I couldn't believe it when I turned it on and they were actually doing a show about that.
Man, that show sucks.
Also listening to Filaponi tonight go on and on about how not getting Shane Victorino was huge mistake. Filaponi is always "hindsight is 20-20", but when something bad happens, he always switches his viewpoint to make himself look like a genius.
