I wonder if they actually knew about the injury when they made the RFA offer to Weber. Makes sense that they would

When they announced Laviolette's extension, they were asked about Meszaros and they said "he's fine" ...just like when Pronger played his last game, he "had a virus". They've been trying to upgrade their defense in a big way all offseason, and now the hockey gods have smited them.

I didn't like all the trades that Holmgren made last summer. I really didn't think that they would make the playoffs. Unless the Flyers are able to pull off another big trade their defense is pretty laughble. Maybe this is the year I get my wish and they have a complete meltdown. If the D goes into the season looking like it does, I can't imagine what will happen to Bryz.

with this lineup, i think as long as they have giroux, they'll still be at least a 5 seed. once they start tuning out laviolette, it'll be different, but they'll be ok this year despite being leaky.

I think you can come back from an Achilles injury but he won;t be 100% skating at all this year. Their defense was already weak losing Carle, Flyers just keep getting worse on paper.

The Flyers' blueline is ahead of the curve and just waiting for the season to be canceled.

Ed Snider will root for a lockout, so he can have a healthy team when the season begins.

Can't wait to see Sid score more highlight reel goals against J-bo six times a year. Make it happen, Holmgren.

Well he does get to hook up with a princess on a nearly routine basis. Sure, he has to go through crazy adventures just for some TLC, but its only an 8-10 hour adventure. That's a cake walk.
