Matt from Shaler was verbally assaulting Peak via twitter tonight. Saying stuff like go drive into a ditch and real ugly stuff.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
After listening to him call the local area code "four-twelve" and talk about the CH-ick-ago Cubs, I came to the conclusion that Dan Zangrilli is an Ellis Cannon disciple. He even has the same voice, only 20-30 years younger.
Only problem is that Dan is devoid of personality, where Ellis does have some small amount.

Man did I hate Ellis Cannon. The guy just grated on every nerve I have. And it was little stuff too. Not even any of his opinons. The way he constantly shortended athletes first names like he was their pal even tho no one ever called them that. "Al Ovechkin" "Gene Malkin" "Al Fanaca" "Marc Fleury"PghSkins wrote:After listening to him call the local area code "four-twelve" and talk about the CH-ick-ago Cubs, I came to the conclusion that Dan Zangrilli is an Ellis Cannon disciple. Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I heard some of that when I was driving home from a hockey game. He was railing at Peak about Tino Sunseri, and that call was worse than any of Tino's interceptions ever looked. I'll be honest...I kind of hope Matt someday gets himself banned as Lily apparently did. They keep the guy on the air during his calls for so long and all it devolves into is listening to him huffing and puffing, yelling and stuttering over himself.jimjom wrote:Matt from Shaler was verbally assaulting Peak via twitter tonight. It's like "Ed in Bloomfield". That guy practically had his own segment at times when he would call in to the Morning Show (does he still call in? I don't listen all the time, but I haven't heard him there in a long time).

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
wouldnt be surprising.
you know, there are not a whole lot of regular callers that are halfway decent anymore. kenny the kangaroo and kenny the kangaroo's dad talked about this. some of the old school callers, i.e. sarcastic sword, the counselor, jocko, etc. never call the fan, but they still call 970. rob in north versailles, rob in greensburg, joe in penn hills, mr 412, and that guy from homer city call often, but thats pretty much it. of course, chuck in uniontown always calls the pirates post game show. it will be a sad day when chuck leaves this earth. hes been calling talkshows since kenny the kangaroo was a pup. lets hope he lives to see the buccos make the playoffs.

I always seem to hear quest and mr 412. Both are terrible and speak nonsense. Titleman is probably the most knowledgeable guy that calls in regularly, unfortunately he focuses all of his attention on Pitt football.

I could see it happening. Peak was even calling him an "idiot" on the air. I don't blame him, I don't follow Molotov Matt but the stuff Peak was retweeting was just plain nasty. All over an opinion about Pitt's QB.
ODD FACT: I have a private twitter but somehow Old Bob follows me.

Is Chuck in Uniontown the guy who sounds like he might have been around for the first game at Forbes Field?KennyTheKangaroo wrote:wouldnt be surprising.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I agree about the patience of Grove. During the 2004 year, and surrounding time, the number of prank calls I heard during post game rose tremendously.
Grove kept on goin - like a boss.
I believe one of the good ones involved Scuderi or someone else coming up from Wilkes-Barre. They had come up for a few games, played well... the caller asked why they may have found their game down in Wilkes-Barre, Grover agreed... then the caller mentioned it must have been because of all that Wilkes-Barre ... well "kitty" (thats about the closest I can do for the word he used without it getting starred out)

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
What would you say is said more on a daily basis:
Vinnie saying the stations name
Josh Miller saying "I hear what you're sayin"
Fan callers saying "yeah dat last guy kinda stole my thunder"
or
Joe Starky saying "Craigers"
