To me, Kunitz, Bennett, TK, Dupuis could have been involved (and Jeffrey as a throw in). Maybe Pens had no fwds that interested Columbus - but they got 2 20 goal scorers and I think those 4 and even Jeffrey can get that #. So can Cooke.

bennett isn't really anything right now. neither is jeffrey. dupuis and kunitz are on the wrong side of 30, and kennedy, as much as i love him, isn't really a 20 goal scorer. he had a lot of PP goals that year when everyone was hurt, and he's not going to be on a top unit to repeat that production, no matter where he plays.

well, in the year Kennedy played 80 games, he had 21G 45 points.
Dubinsky had 10 goals last year.
Anisimov has never scored 20 goals for the rangers.
I don't see where Anisimov is much better than Kennedy.
Dubinsky is ok, Bennett offers more upside in terms of offensive output and creativity.
Jeffrey hasn't played a full season in the NHL yet, but as a center could put up similar #s to the guys the Rangers sent. - But they are unproven, and yeah, Kuniz and Dupuis are older.
My main point is the 2 fwds the jackets did get are 3rd liners who will max out at 20 goals. It hardly seems like an unbeatable deal.

If you can't see Anisimov's potential being better than Kennedy's then we have a serious issue.
The two third liners that will max out at 20 goals have near-20 goal seasons in limited minutes (AA) and two 20+ goal seasons (Dubi).
It's not an unbeatable deal. But it is to us with the pieces you want to use.

I am not treating it as an interpretive enterprise. I am looking at the #s. Kennedy is 26 and puts up similar #s according to the G/A/Pts per game #s.
Of course anyone can say anything. #s are what they are.

Re: I'm bored, lets talk Nash
but even if you're right, that's not how other GM's see it. if the debate was, "should shero trade anisimov for kennedy?", then you could start forming an argument, but you're arguing that the COLUMBUS GM should agree with you and THEN shero should make him an offer. that's quite a requestMaestro wrote:I am not treating it as an interpretive enterprise. - Explain to me how an NHL player is a 'throw in', or at least how you define it?
- Beau Bennett is a prospect with no NHL experience; do you really think an NHL GM would go after him before Jeffrey?
- When did Artem Anisimov score 20 goals?

Yes, I think any NHL GM would go after Bennett before Jeffrey.
