The problem is that Froggy doesn't like to have to travel far for a cold one.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
upon cursory research, i have found there is exactly ONE store that sells Franziskaner in MD, and it's like an hour away.
edit:but this research is already proven inaccurate, so who knows...

I can confirm that this is indeed inaccurate, as I know of two stores in my narrow neck of MD that sell Franziskaner.Froggy wrote:upon cursory research, i have found there is exactly ONE store that sells Franziskaner in MD, and it's like an hour away.

Got a case of Franziskaner the other day. As I've said before, I think it's my favorite beer.

Have to agree w Froggy. Weihenstephaner is awesome. Picked up a growler.

yeah. I am usually right. Weihenstephaner is better than Frankensteiner, or whatever it is called.

If you like wheat beers then I suggest "Monkey Boy" by East End Brewing Company here in Pittsburgh.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
A couple different beers I had this week...
1.) Duchesse de Bourgogne. This was a pretty solid Belgian sour ale. It wasn't as good as RR's Supplication, but it was still enjoyable and a 4-pack cost less than 1 bottle of Supplication.
2.) Founders' Red Rye Pale Ale. I hadn't had any Founders brews before, so I tried this one, even though I'm not crazy about pale ales. It was certainly an interesting taste and it was well crafted, but I found it way too bitter to be enjoyable. The hoppiness combined with the rye was too much for me.

I had their Blabber and Smoke last week. If one likes a strong smoky flavor this beer is for you. I really enjoyed it.
Also tried Sam Adams Oak aged Porter over the weekend. Man is that good

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Financial news that scares those of us that love the current Yardhouse, Darden Corporation (Olive Garden, Red Lobster) is in process of purchasing the much smaller Yardhouse chain. I have a buddy that works for Yardhouse corporate that says Darden has plans to expand the footprint of the restaurant nationwide. While that may sound good on the surface, it's a possible loss to beer lovers thinking about how bad Darden restaurants are.
Yardhouse specializes in having over 130 beers on tap paired with a great menu. A sampling menu: http://www.yardhouse.com/menus/beer.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They may be headed to a mall near you...
