On the edge of a dark forest lay the peaceful village of Stull.
Rumors, which often run before us barking like wild dogs, have for centuries suggested that an evil exists in the forest and that some part of that evil exists in Stull. In fact, some have implied that a portal to the nether world exists even within Stull. If you listen close enough, they whisper, you can hear the cries of terror rising up from Hell itself!
Maybe it's just the wind.
The villagers are used to such soothsayers saying such evil sooths and portents. They laugh at them. Well, they chuckle deep in their breasts. Because lingering always at the edge of understanding, they perhaps think that maybe, just maybe, there may indeed be some truth to it.
And there have been rumblings lately. Rumblings in the earth.
