Why am I picturing Christian Bale's horrible Batman voice when I read that?

Yeah I heard the Filajabroni rant too. Just being contrarian. Mueller should have that spot. He researches topics and doesn't just have a "Madden Lite" (disagreeing with everyone) point of view. Filiponi is awful.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
Missed Fillipponi's rant on Crosby, but it doesn't surprise me at all. His show wouldn't be as bad if he wasn't so transparent in his efforts to be contrarian about everything.
And like people here have pointed out before, his show format just doesn't really lend itself to entertaining radio. It's basically...
Poni: Here's my stance on Topic X. What do you think?
(takes calls)
If caller agrees, they belabor the same talking points with little to no added insight.
If caller disagrees, Poni restates his talking points ad nauseum. He makes very little attempt to give credence to points raised by a caller who disagrees with him, no matter how rational the argument.
Repetitive and boring. I've given his show a chance before and tuned out because it's almost always the same format every time. Wash, rinse, repeat. I've heard he's a decent guy off the air, but the show format is just...boring.
I guess the station is happy with it. I guess they continue with him in that slot because by the time he goes on, Madden is off and the only other option is Joe Bendel.

because he has such a diffacult job: columbias life would suck too if he had to talk about sports all the time
on another note, gianotti has the week off this week. not sure if that makes the morning show better or worse

I'd rather sit next to Vinnie....and that's saying something.
Actually, he's kinda grown on me....it's nice to get the perspective of an out of towner.

Except when that out of towner is either Seibel, Filaponi or Gianotti.

If your are in-touch with Pittsburgh sports in the Twitterverse, you've probably come across @yinzers at some point. Constantly harassing aBob Pompeani, Pomp's personal assistant Mike Vukovcan (acts like a big time tool on Twitter), and John Perotto. Apparently @yinzers was outed this past week. Came across the following piece titled: "on the Pittsburgh Sports Media and the @yinzers saga" - http://secretpartyroom.com/2012/06/27/o ... zers-saga/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I found it pretty interesting...and I have to agree with most of it.

its can be obnoxious a lot of the time because he just snipes and snipes and snipes. on the other hand, he points out a lot of stupidity being passed off as journalism.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:can anyone give a summar of yinzers mode of operation? who was the guy that called this morning that called Despres "Dupuis", called Parise "Paris", and didn't know the difference between Sutter (currently with the team) and Suter (probably won't be with the team)?

I think I heard once on the radio that he had his high school football jersey framed and hanging in his game room....He probably has his middle school baseball jersey framed next to it.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I dont get to listen to Mueller much, and to be fair I know he benefits from going on air right after games are over, but talk about someone who can actually carry a show and not make you want you to punch them in the face.
A: His voice isnt infuriating unlike pretty much everyone on that station
B: Knows what he's talking about
C: He can actually go more than 3 minutes without a caller and carry the show
D: He can disagree with callers, or have callers disagree with him and not sound like a condescending d-bag.

Filliponi is terrible. He's too negative for my tastes and ultimately the reason I stopped listening to the FAN.
