Not mad, he wanted to play with his brother. Nothing else was in play. He didn't have the loyalty to the Pens, blood is thicker than water. Happy for Jordan, we were lucky to have SHero play that situation and get the deal he did. That could of gotten alot uglier.

I think it was about his role, and his family. I'm honestly fine with it. The annual discussion about where he and/or Malkin should play was as much a distraction as a luxury. And in return PGH picks up a more natural 3rd line center, and a couple of top flight D prospects, which we all know Shero has had tremendous success in utilizing.

If ever there was a win-win-win, this is it.

Yes another good point. Good ulck to Jordan except when you play the Pens. Got to figure if the confrences get realligned we might face them 6 times a year.

I am honestly perfectly fine with it and do not think its a direct knock on the Pens or anything like that.
I think that first and foremost he wanted a bigger role (obviously) and 2nd was to play with his brother
if he was going to leave.

We were spoiled here for 6 years. Very rarely can you keep that kind of depth at any position in any sport. I mean we are talking
what could turn out to be with the cap and parity one of the greatest position depths of recent memory. He only has a limited time
in his career as well and as much as we hate to believe it, there is opportunity and chances to win outside of us. He will get a
bigger role there so good for him.

Good for Staal. Great run for the Pens. Good return on the trade. No hard feelings. We can all move on....until we meet the Canes in the playoffs

He didn't want to be here long term. He wanted to play with his brother. He rejected the Pens offer which he had every right to do. Then Pens made a good hockey trade, and then he signed long term with Carolina as he had hoped to do so.

I think it works out well for both sides, and I guess I just don't understand why someone would be upset at him. Believe it or not, sometimes the Pittsburgh Penguins are NOT the best for a player long term.

Or just come out and say he'd rather be somewhere he can be a #2 center. GMRS doesn't make an offer he knows will be rejected because a player wants to leave. Waste of time and a great way to piss off fans...
