Pierre LeBrun on Twitter:
Jagr's agent Petr Svoboda says he expects to talk with the Flyers today...
Are they trying to deny us Jagr watch 2012? :pop:

Re: Jagr question

Will NHL teams look at Jaromir Jagr’s 62 points in 84 games last year or at his birth certificate which would turn 41 in mid-season?

Can some offence-starved clubs afford not to look at him?

The much-decorated Jagr’s decision to join the Flyers last year after time in the KHL was something of a fluke after agent Petr Svoboda was approached by the team during dealings with another client, Jakub Voracek. Jagr was looking at Detroit, Pittsburgh and Montreal at the time. A surprise destination this year might also be in the cards.

“It’s up to my agent,” Jagr told Denik Sport, a Czech newspaper. “We will see what happens. You never know.”

Jagr was disappointed at his ice time late in the year. The Camden Courier Post reports Jagr is likely to seek a small raise on $3.3 million this season or hold off to wait out a rumoured change in the new CBA that players 40 and over will not have salaries count against the cap.
What about the rumoured issue that contracts with players over 40 won´t count against the cap? Is there any truth to it at all? I have not heard about this at all during the GM meetings?

Parise had 69 points in 82 games and Jagr had 62 points in 81 games (including playoffs).

Not much of a difference ;)

I'm not sure there is anything funnier than people STILL suggesting the Pens go after Jagr.

The right price? You can bet your life on Jagr going to the highest bidder. If the Pens are the highest bidder on Jagr, it means they missed out on every single other free agent available in this league and every other league known to man.

As ridiculous as JagrWatch was, I would still be happy to see him retire a Penguin. But I don't really expect the team to pursue him. Plus, he still owes Mario a year

Retire a Pen eh? No problem. Let him sign one of those 1-day contracts and then retire. That would be okay by me.

In fact, that scenario would probably get him back in the good graces of Pens fans.

I didn't realize we had a right handed center for him to play with :face: :face: . Unless you assume Jagr's ego would allow him to play on a 3rd line with Sutter.

I was one of the biggest Jagr guys last year. I would still take him back even now, but I think he's pretty much done. Really faded towards the end of this year.
