Well, I wouldn't call this trolling. Especially given what we've seen in the last couple weeks here. This doesn't even register. This isn't an invalid opinion. I don't agree with it really...because Army hasn't been all that good or healthy really recently...his best is probably better than Kennedy's best, but are we sure that we'll ever get Army's best...? Is the upgrade significant enough to warrant moving Kennedy also? Or just sign Army? If you move Kennedy (which you'll get like a 4th for probably, maybe a 3rd), and Army plays 28 games, then what happens?

I don't know...if he wants to come back and try to re-establish himself for a few bucks or whatever, maybe...but he's not any sort of noteworthy upgrade over our current group of players...

Colby back for cheap. We need some grit on the bottom 2 lines.
My problem with that is I feel like most of Colby's "grit" hits have been outlawed by the NHL. Since he was out most of this last season I question whether or not there will be growing pains as far as cutting back on those blindside hits on guys coming around the net. He doesn't bring enough else for it to be worth the risk when there's plenty of grit guys (Tootoo, Prust, either Winchester) that can throw the body on the right side of the line.

Delpen is far from a troll. He just wants this team to get tougher and not be so easy to play against. I agree.

If we all agree that we need a gritty winger in the tootoo Prust mold, then we should put army in the list.

I don't have any interest in it, but I guess the argument would be that if you can get him for a $1M and use him as plug in.
(It's not like the WBS roster is brimming with promising callups at the F position.)

For 1.25-1.5mil for 3rd/4th line duty, AND if his PK abilities are still as good as they used to be, I'd take him. He does provide some much needed grit, and he was always one of the better PK guys on the Pens. Cooke-Sutter-Armstrong, or Armstrong-Adams/Vitale-Asham....would give us some toughness on the bottom two lines, which this team sorely needs. The 3rd/4th line needs to get a taller and tougher.

The guy aw a darn good PKer here and in Atlanta. He was miscast with a big contract in Toronto. If he came cheap i'd take home for 4th line/PK duty

That is exactly what I was thinking. 4th line press box foder to provide some NHL forward depth on the team that can play on any line for a short period of time in case the injury bug hits.

Would rather have Tangradi waste away on the fourth line.

Also important to add, Colby will be making 1 million this year AND next from Toronto, so there is the possibility he could be had for under a million, maybe somewhere around the 800k mark.

other than at the very end of last year I really havn't seem much evidence that Tangradi has the skill set to play in the NHL. His skating is sub par, his hitting is very inconsistent and he is slow to make decisions with the puck. His only real assets is he does well digging in corners and playing on the boards. I don't pay enough atten to WBS to know if he is a good PK or not.

I think GMRS would take Colby back, BUT, the situation would have to be right.

If in a few weeks, IF GMRS was unable to sign any forwards, I think he'd look at Colby. If Colby was not signed immediately, it implies his stock has dropped, and he'd take a small amount with the chance to play with the Pens again. I think his deal might would be a 2-way deal, but GMRS would give him a chance I think. Sid would likely want him to have a chance, but he'd have to earn it.

Cooke-Sutter-Armstrong would be a great third line.
Surely you can't be serious.

But just in case:

Army had as many points in 10-11 as Kennedy had goals.
He is serious. And don't call me Shirley.

TK is way better than Armstrong. I can't believe I said that, but how can you even honestly think Armstrong is better?

When a team buys you out its a tell tale sign your game is going south. When a team can't trade you for a 7th round pick it generally says... you suck.

In this case it tells you nobody wants to take on his salary, not for even a 7th round pick. Like some others have said, I would think about him for under a million on a one year deal for fourth line duty. I would look at others such as Daniel Winnik or David Moss first though.
