Colby Armstrong bought out.

Post by Pens15 »

Armstrong bought out today. May not have worked out in Toronto, but he's a hell of a guy. He'll work hard to make an impact elsewhere.
I'd take a flier for 1.5M. Rather him than Asham.

I like Colby, because he was a sacrificial lamb in a maturity process for the team.

Leveille (our first round pick to Atlanta) won't get a contract (UFA on Aug. 15), Esposito has toiled in the minors and also was not qualified (UFA), Erik Christensen has always been a fringe NHLer (UFA) and now Colby Armstrong is being actively forced out of the league (UFA)...so...let's buy back the farm that we sold!

Come on, why not? The guy is a good hockey player, it's not his fault Toronto was retarded. He's better than Kennedy in every aspect of the game.

Cooke-Sutter-Armstrong would be a great third line.

Surely you can't be serious.

But just in case:

Army had as many points in 10-11 as Kennedy had goals.

I am serious. Armstrong will kill penalties and is better on the powerplay. Their scoring output is about the same. In what way is Kennedy better than Armstrong?

Not saying I want Armstrong but in DelPen's defense, Armstrong was out a good while with a concussion

You're right there, but if Armstrong came cheaper then Kennedy I'd rather have Armstrong over Kennedy

No. "Their scoring output is about the same".

Armstrong hasn't had more than 30 points since 2008-2009; his production has been on a steady decrease (injuries, general sucking).

In no world is Colby Armstrong near Tyler Kennedy's level, and that's saying something.

I'd take
Colby back for cheap. We need some grit on the bottom 2 lines.

Like I said, I'm not saying I want Colby back, nor do I believe it will happen. I don't think he's as bad as some people make him out to be.

This doesn't have to be a Colby vs Kennedy thing. Colby could play with vitale and tangradi on the 4th line or he could play 3rd line if Kennedy gets moved
