Yes, that's right. I guess he went to prosecutors last week but couldn't take the stand because he wasn't part of the original charges. If Sandusky took the stand he could have been called as a rebuttal witness.

Real honest question. Are there people here wanting to see Sandusky go free because it releases Penn State from the grips of bad news? If Sandusky is found guilty, it's a whole heap of nothing good for the school, and reading through this I get the feeling that a few PSU alums/fans want Sandusky to go free so it doesn't damage Penn State in a detrimental way.

Do tell who these alums are that want to see a child molester walk just because he coached their football team. Nobody, I mean not one, of the hundreds of alums or students I have talked to give a single damn if the guy rots in jail for the next hundred years. This isn't about the school's reputation, the damage has been done. We, the students and the teachers, are burdened with the responsibility of rebuilding it.

As a PSU Alum I want Sandusky to go to jail for the rest of his life (everyone knows this is a given), but I won't be satisfied until Schultz, Curley, and Spanier are in jail as well.

So, lawyers......... it seems the jury has asked for a playback of McQueary's testimony and that of Dr. Dranov. From my distant perch out here in not-closely-following-the-case-land is that these are the only two bits of testimony that dramatically differ from one and other. (I don't consider the mixup between the two police officers to be hugely material, fwiw) Further, I gather they will be watching a video recording of the testimony, not just audio or reading a transcript.

If my recollection of the record is accurate, McQueary's testimony at trial is consistent with his testimony before the Grand Jury. The difference arises between McQueary's version of what information was relayed to his father, Dr. Dranov and Paterno, and Dr. Dranov's version of that retelling.

It is very interesting to me that this was asked for on the first day of deliberations. The implication of the jury seeking playback of these two pieces of information is telling; McQueary is not on trial here, but he still has a vested interest in getting it on the record that what he saw and - more importantly - what he communicated to Higher Authority was clear and unequivocal. Therefore, of the two (McQueary and Dranov) only one has a motive to...... embellish their testimony after the fact. Conversely, they also had a motive for downplaying things contemporaneously.

Is that then grounds for the jury to disregard McQueary's startlingly graphic tale? Or do they chalk it up to someone confronted with what can at best be described as a horrible situation doing a bad job of addressing it at the time and doing their best (or at least something) to make it right ten years on?

Can't stand him. Could be good reporting of this if he didn't constantly mix it with whatever personal axe it is he has to grind. His assault on Dick Vitale on twitter was embarassing.

That was my initial opinion on him, but it's not like he's just a jerk when it comes to PSU, he's like that on every topic. Which I think is good reporting. Clogs my twitter feed sometimes though

Sandusky assaulted him over 100 times.
