I remember filliponi used to constantly rip on / laugh at her, which was really ironic since most individuals group those 2 as worse in Pittsburgh sports mediacheesesteakwithegg wrote:That is big loss for Root SportsStoosh wrote:Per Colin Dunlap's Twitter account:

Yea, I remember him going on some on air-rant about how he always told seahawk fans they were ridiculous for complaining about refs.. I debated calling in and referencing this lolviva la ben wrote:Who is the true Vinnie Rechichi?

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I noticed that Ron's been taking the lead of the show with taking the show in and out of breaks instead of Vinnie, I guess it's a format change. I've always seen Vinnie as more of a color commentator regardless.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I've been following Sports by Brooks on Twitter, and he's been decrying the lack of talk about the Sandusky case in the Pittsburgh media. I tend to agree radio-wise -- I haven't been tuning into the TV news lately. I was pretty surprised this morning when Dan Wetzel from Yahoo was on the show and they devoted two segments before and after 8 to the trial and coverage. Paul Alexander has PSU ties and bleeds blue and white and used to cover PSU in State College so he did't seem to ask many questions -Giannotti ran the interview. At the end of the interview Alexander asked Wetzel a qustion about a sandwich shop in Bellefonte which I found to be completely unprofessional and inappropriate. Even Wetzel and Colony/Giannotti seemed shocked. Like, you talk about this horrific material for 10 minutes in a serious manner then you close by completely switching gears and asking about a deli.

The Post-Gazette has done a good job of covering it. KDKA has 2 reporters on site covering it. I don't know about the other stations or the Trib.jimjom wrote:I've been following Sports by Brooks on Twitter, and he's been decrying the lack of talk about the Sandusky case in the Pittsburgh media. I have no doubt in my mind that Alexander is a Sandusky apologist.

I've been surprised that the PG has done such a good job covering it. That place is loaded with PSU grads. I don't give the PG credit for much, but for their Sandusky coverage, they deserve it.llipgh2 wrote:The Post-Gazette has done a good job of covering it. KDKA has 2 reporters on site covering it. I don't want to believe that this is the case but I really think that it is.Malkamaniac wrote:I have no doubt in my mind that Alexander is a Sandusky apologist.
Also good call on the PG, guys. I have to give Dunlap some credit too as he tackled the subject of JS on his Sunday night show.

That was a few days ago, maybe last week. Don't think they used the sound effect today though.
