If anything, I'll watch it just because of the ex Flyer factor. Salt in the woundnocera wrote:Good thing the Devils beat the Flyers way back when.penny lane wrote:I won't watch the cup being lifted by flyers.

That's an all time brain fart. Right up there with Leon Lett, Chris Webber, Jean Van de Velde...

The North Stars had an epic collapse. Let's see if the final score exceeds 8-0.

Just kidding SDD, but I don't think I've ever seen such an implosion during a championship game in any sport.

Lol...it was a five minute major. And the game was tied 0-0 prior to that. These weren't even strength goals.ExPatriatePen wrote:Three goals in four minutes?Gaucho wrote:He could. We all could.

I think I do that same play in NHL 12 all the time, but I only get thrown out, like half the time.

Thanks!
And no, I don't think the Mavs collapse compares, they didn't give up 25 or 30 unanswered points. To me that's the equivalent of what just happened.

Haha, really? IT WAS A POWER PLAY!!! Against a team playing with tons of energy in front of their home crowd. After a penalty that completely deflated any momentum the Devils had.ExPatriatePen wrote:There it is...Sam's Drunk Dog wrote:The North Stars had an epic collapse. That doesn't even remotely compare to giving up 25 or 30 points in 5 on 5 basketball.

Re: Non-Pens NHL Games Thread
Shaf, I could care less if it's a PP or not, going down 0-3 in less than a four minute span in an elimination game is pretty damn deflating... But I'm smart enough to realize I have three respected posters (at least) who disagree with me. I'll take that as an indication that mine is probably a minority opinion.shafnutz05 wrote:Haha, really? Let's see how the Devils respond here to start the 2nd, that'll certainly tell the story won't it?

It most certainly will. If this goes south, just imagine the fan reaction towards Bernier next year in NJ. Wow

Hextall and Williams as well. I've read a lot of Flyer fans, or maybe it's the bloggers, who say they are rooting for the Kings. It all changes once they lift the Cup. Out of the four players, I'm glad Gagne gets it the most. One of the few Flyer's whose game I respect and seems a class act off the ice. Add in all the injuries, he deserves. The fact he's going to do it in LA and not Philly? Even better.llipgh2 wrote:Don't forget John Stevens.nocera wrote:That's the spirit. Would love it if Pee-Air could get an interview with Bernier. Maybe he can be an in-studio guest in the second intermission.

Agree with the above. I listen to a ton of Philly sports talk (because, quite frankly, the quality on the Fanatic is far better than Pittsburgh outside of Madden), and you can tell there is an underlying fear re: Richards and Carter winning it all.

Geez. How does the linesman get in that position? That's really poor.

LOL Jeff Carter. What a floating puck there.
