I also agree with columbia's technique.

I mean, are there people out there that actually get drunk on craft beer? That seems obscenely expensive.

Very much so. How many 6-7% beers do you need to get drunk? I'm good with 3-4.

I get drunk on craft beer sometimes... it takes way less to do it. Usually I follow the 1 craft beer, bunch of cheaper stuff to follow.

Also, jimjom...there's a bottle shop here in State College that get special beers in (such as DFH 120 min) and you have to like them on facebook and keep an eye on their page because they hide the specials behind the counter and you have to specifically ask for them.

Yup. If I have 3 or 4, I'm full, pretty buzzed, and very happy. Honestly, if I buy 2 sixers, I have enough beer for the week. $20-25. If I want to have a few one night, I'll usually find a place that I can get a growler (East End, Church, or Mad Mex) for less than $20. I probably don't spend more than $100 in a month on beer, and I drink beer most nights.

My wife and I are getting a new fridge... which means I'll have an extra. Which means...

I drank 5 and a half 9%'ers at a party a few months ago. Not good.

I can pretty much ensure that I will get drunk on Dupont Moinette this summer. It is 8.5% and tastes like a really tasty refreshing summer beer.

I think you just need to take crap beer out of your repetoire. I really like drinking beer, but I never want more than 4 or 5 craft beers.

I'm down in Florida for the summer and just picked up a sixer of Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale. I hadn't really found any good Florida brews before, but I had been hearing good things about Cigar City. It doesn't disappoint. Their brown ale is definitely a cut above a run-of-the-mill brown ale (e.g. Newcastle).

It is an awesome, awesome beer. Don't get too hung up on the "mocha" aspect of it. The flavors are extremely well-blended, it is an awesome sipping beer. I like to get the 20 oz bottles at Wegman's.

Was at Fraunces tavern in downtown NYC this week. Really great place, full of history. Oldest building in the city, Washington bade his troops farewell there. Had the Southern Tier 2X stout and Green Flash double stout, both quite excellent.

Going with a Wrasslers stout now and the MCA tribute later, mixing the Bass Ale with the Guinness Stout (/yearandaday).

Should've gone with the sunshine pils. I don't think their pale ale is the one of their best efforts.
