I realize Im not tellin any tales outta school here, but, watchin the #1 cochran show. Rob Rossi couldn't be a bigger hipster d-bag if, ..and i have no comparison. I really dont. When Pompeani introduced them, instead of just a head nod or whatever, Rossi's move is the ever cool, tip my thick frame glasses as to say "hi"

How much prep work do the radio show hosts do before their shows?

The most prepared guys I've heard are Savran and Meuller. Savran could do sports talk in his sleep and Mueller has the benefit of talking about games and events as they're over or wrapping up given his time slot. Sometimes his show descends to silliness but the callers are drunk by that time. Also I think Dunlap is very well prepared. Madden too. Guys like Seibel, Miller, Richichi, Filijabroni all just seem to wing it and keep hammering the same points home and rarely budging from their opinions.

The fan morning show has worn me out.
Any time Roethlisberger says anything to the media, they twist it into Ben longing for BA. They ask every person they interview about what they think of Ben complaining about how hard the new playbook is...nobody agrees with them, Bouchette, Chris Hoke, even Cowher this morning.

They also had a long discussion ths morning about Bryce Harpers "antics" and how they are sick of hearing about how he is the anointed one.

I understand negativity breeds ratings, but they are literally beating their audience to death trying to manufacture it.

Also when texters or callers call them out on it they do a total 360. Saying "oh, well 98% of stuff we say has been praise"

Gianotti was complaining about the Marlins new field yesterday morning, he's getting worse and worse. When you have Alexander, who is established as unbearable and now Gianotti is becoming an Alexander clone.

Good to know that I stopped listening to this morning show before that started happening.

The only thing I really remember sticking out to me was the insult song they sang of Morton playing music or something or other.

So, in the wake of the passing of former WVU HC Bill Stewart, even the PG is backing off of Colin Dunlap:
Shortly after that Colin Dunlap, a former reporter for the Post-Gazette who covered the team, said on radio station 93.7 The Fan that Stewart had asked him "and at least one other reporter" in December 2010 to dig up "dirt" on Holgorsen. Dunlap was no longer a Post-Gazette employee when he reported Stewart's actions.

I heard it last night on his show and I have no idea what to make of it. It was very odd.

Leading into a long sports weekend featuring hockey and basketball playoffs, baseball, and the Indy 500, The Machine less Seibel and plus Filiponi spent the bulk of their show yesterday discussing trimming your pit hair and other, uh, man scaping.

Wow.

Don't take this as me becoming a fan of Poni, but he's slightly more tolerable when he doesn't have to carry a show by himself.

That being said, the grooming thing was awkward and Poni is still a hack that shouldn't be on the radio.

I received my first ever twitter-blocking lol.

Joe Starkey tweeted:
"In other news, Pirates to convert Pedro Alverez to a hitter"
" Penguins to convert Paul Martin to a defense man"

Then finally
"Arizona State announces plans to convert Todd Graham to a nice guy"

After the third pathetic attempt of humor I responded with "Humor failure @JoeStarkey"

Which apparently was enough for a block 2 seconds later lol

perhaps a joke somewhere along the lines of "cbs radio plans to convert 93.7 fm to an entertaining radio station" should be in order.

Lol yea I thought it was kind of unnecessary just for saying it wasn't funny, but o well.. Better than colin dunlap private messaging me and I quote "Hey a**-hole..." When I just disagreed with him once

Kind of weird responses from both though. I never saw men in their 40's (I'm guessing ?) be so sensitive

Suprised Starkey didn't follow it up with thirty seconds of awkwardly trying to guess what kind of person you are like he does during "Seibel, Starkey and Miller"

"He seems like he's a nice man. Probably mid-30s. Probably has a nice wife with a nice house, and spends his Saturday afternoon washing his car in his driveway."

In all seriousness, of all the awkward moments I hear any Fan show not run by Chris Mueller, Starkey and Seibel talking about what they think callers are actually like in their regular lives has to be one of the most awkward, uncomfortable things I've ever heard on Pittsburgh radio. The only thing remotely redeeming about those segments is that you can hear the absolute disdain and disgust in Josh Miller's voice when they try to reel him in to doing it as well.

No segment has any hope as long as seibel is involved with it.

at least mueller has an excuse for all his awkward moments: they are caused by the drunken morons that call his show

siebel and starky are just unlikable.
