Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I saw on twitter over the weekend that Jon Burton got a job in Nashville and is leaving The Fan.
Good for JB. Always seemed like a good guy. Not that he was the most talented guy in the world, but I always thought that he got the short end of the stick at 93.7

Good for him. Wasn't the best, but he was really entertaining.cheesesteakwithegg wrote:I saw on twitter over the weekend that Jon Burton got a job in Nashville and is leaving The Fan.

Fillaponi was at his most tolerable when he was interacting with JB before/after the updates.viva la ben wrote:I wish Fillaponi was leaving.cheesesteakwithegg wrote:I saw on twitter over the weekend that Jon Burton got a job in Nashville and is leaving The Fan.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
He was awesome on the "Alexander, Burton and Colony morning show". Seriously, how does Poni still have a job there and Mueller buried so late? This Terry Foxx guy who runs the ship at the Fan is really out of touch. The station has some talent, but it is a shame that it seems like it is run like little league baseball, a lot of politics. If you don't drink Terry Foxx's kool aid, good luck there.IronDukes37 wrote:Thought JB got a raw deal at that station.
The one guy they had with any energy and they sidelined him to late night updates.

I'm sure Filliponi will have reasons as to why DeCastro was a terrible first round pick tonight.

filaponi had a topic a few days ago in which he argued pedro would have 30 home runs this year.Malkamaniac wrote:I'm sure Filliponi will have reasons as to why DeCastro was a terrible first round pick tonight.

man. I'm sure the argument revolved around Pedro being the smarter money bet than signing that Pujols fella too.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:filaponi had a topic a few days ago in which he argued pedro would have 30 home runs this year.Malkamaniac wrote:I'm sure Filliponi will have reasons as to why DeCastro was a terrible first round pick tonight.

I REALLY want to listen to Filaponi after a Pittsburgh team wins a championship. I'm 100% positive he'll turn it all into a negative and I'm legitimately curious on how he'd do so
I know it'll start out as "So, Pittsburgh sports fans, you finally won a championship..."

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I actually just thought of 1 twist he'd probably take. He'd probably start arguing that they AREN'T the city of champions and bring up cities that have won more recently. This would probably occur the night they won it allMalkamaniac wrote:Wish nothing but the worst for FillaponiIanMoran wrote:I REALLY want to listen to Filaponi after a Pittsburgh team wins a championship. Madden got crucified for it yesterday and then tried to lay the guilt trip about how he makes mistakes too and he'll never talk about Pitt.pfim wrote:So, has Jamie Dixon accepted the LSU job yet?

I believe Mark Madden had INSIDE INFO THAT JAMIE DIXON WAS GOING TO LSU, along with a story about Dixon being upset over the Wanny firing? ... when they actually had already hired their head coach a week agoTroy Loney wrote:What happened?
Yet people still constantly talk about MM rumors
