Re: Your irrational pet peeves
I am irrationally peeved by directional automobile wheels. Those are wheels where the spokes of the wheel are swirled in a particular direction, so that when you look at the wheel its features are either twisted in a clockwise or counterclockwise orientation (example here). The problem with wheels of this type is that to do them right, two of the wheels should be mirror images of the other pair. That way, the wheels will all swirl toward the front or back of the car regardless of which side of the car you are looking at. If you make all four wheels the same, then on one side of the car the wheels will be oriented clockwise, and on the other side they will be counterclockwise. For an example of doing it wrong, compare this picture to this picture. Virtually no one bothers to make mirror pairs so they look right.

I got tooted at in Squirrel Hill last week for not doing this. Thought about giving 'em the finger but just smiled and waved instead. Amazing thing is, apparently based on blowing their horn, they were going to follow me through. They'd have been the entire way across the intersection.Malkamaniac wrote:I get incredibly irritated when people want to get somewhere faster and run a recently changed red light in Pittsburgh only to completely block the intersection.
If it's yellow and there's a car on top of the crosswalk on the other side of the road, just wait your turn as you're only about to make all the people who waited at the red light want to kill you because mostly likely you've again made them wait another light.

this commercial, specifically this part about bluetooth not being hands-free. Oh really? Why do you have to still hold your phone? Why can't you set it on your desk, leave it on your console, etc.?

Message Boards and Websites that tell you if you spell a word wrong but offer no suggestions on what the correct spelling is.
Very irritating to me.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
oh, here's one that's actually completely irrational. i hate when movie posters have the names of the actors across the top, and then the actors pictures in the poster, but they're not in the same order as the names are.

I think it's rational (especially if I don't know the actors): The names should correspond to the actors position in the picture (in some way).

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
There are a few things when I go to the store that I want specifically.. For example .. I like Sierra Mist I don't drink much pop & when I do ..I like Sierra Mist, not Sprite, not 7up etc.
When hubby goes to the store with the list ..if there is anything specific ( like SM ) I tell him ..if they don't
have it, don't get anything.. He brings home an 8 pack of 12oz. bottles of Sprite !
Really .. Is it that difficult ? And no, they don't taste the same !

One car in the left lane, going 55 mph. The other car in the right lane, going 54.99 mph
That's great that these drivers are law-abiding citizens, but they are also causing traffic to back up.

People who keep the click tones on on their smartphones. Got a new neighbor in the formerly empty next cubicle - have not introduced myself but he's got the click tones on. You tune out the sound of people typing on their actual keyboard but not that stupid click tone. It's driving me nuts.

the phrase "taking his talents to South Beach".
This is probably the main reason I'm glad Peyton Manning didn't sign in Miami.

edit: i see what you did there.Three Stars wrote:The chronic overuse of "wow, just wow".
You can add the use of "Really? REALLY?", as if one really (or in your case, "wow, just wow") wasn't enough to justify your point.
There's a commercial on NHL Network that contains this pet peeve. I usually can't reach for the remote quick enough.

Don't worry, those same faux-Irish will reveal that they are also celebrating their Mexican day of freedom in about 7 weeks.cheesesteakwithegg wrote:People who celebrate St Patrick's Day like its their last day on earth

Lol. I have a non Irish roommate who not only goes crazy at the bars on St patrick's day, he does it in a kilt. He also is a professional lifeguard/philosophy student who constantly makes the house smell like college.
OH! Pet peeve... I don't mind if a person smokes pot, but ooooooooh, I hate pot heads.

The excessive use of "like"
I am sitting in the lobby and this chick is on the phone, she has said "like" about every other word. So annoying haha
