Still working on that case of Sam Adams pale ale, light weight I know but was easy to get the wife to pick it up last weekend.

Probably my least favorite Victory beer... but I'm not real big on beers like that.count2infinity wrote:Victory Hop Wallop... pretty much just like it sounds.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Picked up tonight:
Great Lakes Blackout Stout: Really, really good. Imperial class, but has the malt dominance that I prefer.
Tommyknocker Butt Head Bock: On deck.

Got a 6 pack of that in a variety case. Not a fan. Tastes like burnt beer. I could live without the Dirty Ba$tard too. The centennial IPA and Reds Rye are fantastic.MWB wrote:Founders Porter. Excellent.

I had one of the Sierra Ovila's last night. I didn't realize there were three of them, but i'm pretty sure it was this one. I know it wasn't the Saison and I don't think it was the winter. Either way, it was really good, and I'd suggest it.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I'm having Unibroue's Maudite tonight for the first time, having developed a real love of their Fin du Monde. The Maudite is excellent as well. Unibroue is definitely working its way into my favorite breweries.
I also splurged and got a bottle of Dogfish Head Red and White that I plan on saving for the game on Thursday. Has anyone had this? I plan on splitting it with a friend who wasn't man enough for the Innis & Gunn beer brewed in whiskey casks, so I thought the Dogfish Red and White, which is brewed in pinot noir casks, might be more his speed.

Unibroue is excellent. The only one of their's I've had that I was not crazy about was the Ephimere (or something like that). It's an Apple fruit beer. Its good but not up to the standard they set with Tres Pistoles, Maudite, and Fin du Monde.
I picked up a Schneider-Weiss Aventinus from the cooler at Sharp Edge last night before heading down to my NCAA player auction. I cringed a little at the $14 price tag, but it is so good.

southern tier double milk stout
a lot like the creme brule stout, but a little lighter and comes in 6 packs.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
picked up a variety pack from long trail. tried the pollinator and the blackberry ale. the pollinator was alright, it's your standard ale. nothing special. the blackberry ale was pretty good. I don't usually like fruity beers, but this one was very good. I'd definitely buy it again.

The Ephmere is a great summer beer. I enjoyed it much better on draft than out of the bottle though.

I agree with that. I had it mid-summer paired with a pork meal. Mmm.Troy Loney wrote:Kraftster wrote:Unibroue is excellent. I don't think I'd like it out of a bottle.

Huge fan of this beer. I don't really like the heavily flavored stuff though (like creme brulee and pumpkin beer)shmenguin wrote:southern tier double milk stout

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Interesting. I tried the cherry last weekend and thought the raspberry was much better. The cherry smell reminded me of cough syrup. I couldn't get past that.stopper40 wrote:Tried the cherry last night, thought it was much better than the rasberryAdmin wrote:I had a Samuel Smith's Organic Raspberry Fruit Beer this weekend.
