I have no idea how Poni holds down his job. He's like a less credentialed version of Colin Dunlap

I turn off the FAN when his show comes on. I can't stand him.viva la ben wrote:I have no idea how Poni holds down his job. He's like a less credentialed version of Colin Dunlap

I actually don't mind Dunlap. On a scale of A to F, he's a C. Nothing special about his show and he doesn't seem to stretch 2 carefully worded points into a 4 hour show like Filaponi does.

To me, if I had to grade each show on the FAN:JS© wrote:I actually don't mind Dunlap. On a scale of A to F, he's a C. Nothing special about his show and he doesn't seem to stretch 2 carefully worded points into a 4 hour show like Filaponi does.
Morning show - B (I actually enjoy all the personalities, even Alexander. I just wish they'd get rid of the overuse of skits and stupid sounds and stuff like that)
Vinnie and Cook - B- (I actually love listening to Cook. Don't know why. Vinnie is clueless outside of baseball, but I love listening to Cook make fun of him)
Miller, Starkey, and Sieble - B+ - (This is my most enjoyable show. They all bring something a little different. Miller is like a miserable old man, which makes me laugh for some reason)
Filiponi - D- (I can't stand his voice, he is whiney, and he just wants to bait callers, which he does poorly)
I like the Panther pre and post game coverage for their games. I'll be interested to see how they do with the BUccos this summer.

I really enjoy Miller and Starkey together. Sieble ruins that show IMO. I heard Dunlap fill in a few times for Sieble, and he along with Miller and Starkey were great.

I listen to Hockey Night in Canada Radio on Sirius 157 in the afternoon (3-6). It's amazing how professional it sounds compared to "The Machine."

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
Friend of mine was off for two weeks over the summer and started a Vinnie and Cook drinking game. Not that I'd start hitting the booze at 10am, but he forwarded me what he game up with, and the most seasoned drinking veteran wouldn't have made it past noon. The two things I remember with Cook was him disagreeing with Vinnie (take a drink), repeating himself (also a drink), and making that "aaaaahhhhh" noise when a caller makes a point that he doesn't agree with (two drinks).Letang Is The Truth wrote:cook sounds like a whiny girl all the time. not sure if its his voice or actually the things hes saying but sometimes he is jsut unbearable

Just be careful about Colin's 'facts'... they tend to change. I truly believe it's one of the reasons he got out of the 'print media'.JS© wrote:I actually don't mind Dunlap. Im just glad that DVE didn't hire either Sean or Gene Collier for the morning show. Gene makes my skin crawl, and since Sean is an exact replica of his dad, he does the same.

Vinnie was trying to do hand motions while explaining the Cooke on Jackman hit. Cook jumped in and explained to Vinnie that they were on the radio, so the hand motions were doing nothing for the listeners. I laughed.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:vinnie is a nice person. vinnie is not knowlegable on sports. vinnie does not deserve to be berated like a child.newarenanow wrote:I like when Cook yells at Vinnie.
