Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
i do like chocolate stouts, so i'll have to give that a try. Yeah, this is a Belgian style strong (very strong) pale ale. The initial taste has a little bit of that banana/clove taste, but the aftertaste is very peppery. combination of black pepper and chili. i enjoy it.

Finally acquired this via trade - easily in the realm of Pliny as far as Double IPAs go. I struggle drinking from the can, but I love every sip - plus, it's from Vermont, so I like it more.MWB wrote:Had this over Christmas:

Excellent Double IPA. When flooding from Hurricane Irene demolished the old brewery they rebuilt a cannery and now focus on producing Heady Topper in cans. If you can get it, well worth it.

Did you notice any negatives drinking from the can? Can't say I really did. Also, need to try to find some Pliny. Never had it.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I didn't - I spent about an hour sipping from the can, it was unusual but the brew was amazing.MWB wrote:Did you notice any negatives drinking from the can? Can't say I really did. Also, need to try to find some Pliny. Never had it.
I occasionally come by some Pliny (Russian River makes some of the best beers in the country and developed the Double IPA). If you want to setup a trade - let me know. I don't know that I can get any for a few weeks, however.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I recently found a beer/wine store that has quite a selection of beer for building your own 6-pack. Going tomorrow, will report back with the bounty.

Pretty good stuff, though I would suggest only having 2 or 3 at the most because the taste gets a little overpowering.Eismann wrote:I've seen that everytime at the Jiggle. I'll pick some up.Froggy wrote:2 beer related topics tonight...

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Just picked up a mix & match six pack.
1. Ommegang Three Philosophers
2. Smuttynose Robust Porter
3. Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout
4. Fullers London Porter
5. Allagash Tripel
6. Anchor Porter
Plus the store had a nice 4 pack of pint glasses from Stone Brewery that I picked up. Pretty nice trip. Just poured the Three Philosophers and am enjoying it so far.

My thoughts so far: it's very smooth for a 9.8% has a nice plum/cherryish taste that lingers for a while. Quite enjoyable!count2infinity wrote:i've been thinking about getting the Three Philosophers for a while now... let me know how it is.
