Sure not saying Sid is soff, just pointing out how cluless the Pens were about Sid's situation.Gaucho wrote:I guess Sid is just soff.offsides wrote:Giroux looks OK. Must have been a "mild" concussion.

Re: Non-Pens NHL Games Thread
Exactly. Who knows what happens if Giroux played in the next game then suffered a hit similar to the Hedman hit. No point though in playing the 'what if' game at this point I guess.

I have to apologize to the both of you: I (for what reason, I have no "idear") was focusing on the wrong hit.Staggy wrote:That hit was absolutely disgusting. Seabrook didn't have the puck, Wisniewski charged in from the blue line and gave him a flying elbow to the head that rammed his head back off the glass. That doesn't happen every game in any level of hockey.Kraftster wrote:A player who is a dangerous distance from the boards who has not touched the puck is drilled by a defenseman charging from the blue line and leaping with arms/elbows into his head? I don't believe that.Physical_Graffiti wrote:That hit happens 10 times a game (and twice on Sundays) in high school hockey.Kraftster wrote: Sigh. Seabrook looking at another concussion possibly. His fourth. What is Bourque doing here?
At least two of Seabrook's concussion have been on dirty hits, the other one being the Wisniewski hit, which was one of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen.
High hits to players not involved in the play (and thus unsuspecting) that come after a 60' charge -- I can't imagine much that is more dangerous than that.
My favorite part was when the Duck announcers started accusing Seabrook of selling the hit to get a call. Idiots.

I completely agree columbia; this is why I have tried to preach patience when talking about the issue.columbia wrote:For as much crap as roenick gets, that was one of the better discussions of the issue.
To be hopeful for a moment, perhaps the Pens are taking the extreme caution position in a way that will actually ensure Crosby's LT future in the league? They weren't specifically discussing that, but it's historically obvious that players have had numerous concussions and kept on playing throughout a lengthy career. My hope is that the Pens are on the forefront of dealing with it early in the cycle - relatively - and that his future is there. That might be naive; if so, so be it.

I hear that a four point night upon returning from a concussion is bad luck....Staggy wrote:Damn, 4 point night for Giroux.

Sucks that Crosby misses 10 months, career in jeopardy, Letang out for many weeks, and guys like Asham, Kennedy,Michalek, Giroux, etc.. Get concussed and are out like 5 games and come back like it was nothing.
Every concussion is different. Sid, Pronger, Marc Staal....their concussions are very different from the "minor ones".
And of course guys in the NFL get concussions on Sunday, rest for 6 days, and are playing again the next Sunday.

kronwall's feet will usually leave the ice after impact, but in this case, he definitely jumped into kessler.JoseCuervo wrote:kronwall loves leaving his feet
but to compare it to engelland's hit...i wouldn't consider this a "head shot" and kessler wasn't engaged with someone else at the time of the hit. so if there's no suspension, i understand. however...if there's no fine, then i call BS. it would be shanahan capitalizing on a western game than no one watched and that no one in the media cried about. so he'll let it go under the radar

Blue Jackets blew a 3-1 lead to the Predators for the 2nd time in like a month.
Someone just needs to fire everyone and start from scratch.

Re: Non-Pens NHL Games Thread
To add more fuel to the "Fire Everyone in Columbus" fire, they cancelled their practice tomorrow. Not exactly smart for a coach of a team who blew a 2 goal lead and ended up losing.

Re: Non-Pens NHL Games Thread
Wasn't it 4-1 and then 5-2? So two three goal leads during the game and they lose. 4/6 on the PP.
