Picked up some Old Speckled Hen English ale. My malty adventure continues.

I tried this awhile back and hated it. I think it was partly because I was drinking a different beer up to that point an the contrast was so great.

I don't like it, either. And it's not because of mixing beers. It's that Heineken-esque bitter foot odor taste. Not what I was looking for in a malty ale.

Yeah, that's how I remember it as well. It was bad enough that I didn't finish it.

Not sure if it's their seasonal. Had it on tap today. Then had the 420 IPA this evening, which was also good.

I definitely concur. I think it's better than Sam Adams Oktoberfest (and I like Sam Adams).

You can find it in MD, DC, Virginia but not in PA/OH/NY that I'm aware of. I think you would really like it, though, Eismann (based upon the beers it seems like you've been drinking lately).

Anyone in western pa try Stoney's lately? It's brewed in Latrobe at the former rolling rock brewery. Very similar to Straub.

actually, it's about 5 hours of mp3's that i share around my home network. laptop hooked up to the stereo in the basement, home theater PC's hooked up to the living room and upstairs den. it went ok. got a few new additions to the playlist that i'm excited about. it's a good balance of lame girl music, nostalgic 90's stuff, standard white people fare, straight rap and a few indie tracks.

though the best luck i've had with one of these parties was when we were all congregating in the basement, turned off the playlist and i just left my itunes account open and had some friends keep finding+playing new songs.
