Just grabbed some Lancaster Brewing Company's Winter Warmer. If you like Anderson Valley's Winter Solstice but want something a little less sweet, this is the beer to get. It's great.

Magic Hat Howl Winter Ale....solid stuff.
Anchor's 2011 Christmas edition? Interesting. Almost hints of pine needles, if that makes any sense.

At this point I'm hesitant to try anything from Magic Hat. Often disappointed. Want to try that Anchor Steam though. Need to start grabbing some winter beers.shafnutz05 wrote:Magic Hat Howl Winter Ale....solid stuff.

Big fan of the Howl. A touch watery for a schwarzbier but good nonetheless. I usually get a case.shafnutz05 wrote:Magic Hat Howl Winter Ale....solid stuff.

I tried this awhile back and hated it. I think it was partly because I was drinking a different beer up to that point an the contrast was so great.Eismann wrote:Picked up some Old Speckled Hen English ale. My malty adventure continues.

Is pretty good, just not a real "Winter" ale.count2infinity wrote:just got a case of sierra nevada celebration ale... reading the reviews online, this should be good stuff.
I found Penn St. Nicholas Bock at a distributor and bought 2 cases. Its limited supply and easily the best traditional German beer not brewed in Germany. This is my favorite beer of all time.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I love winter ales. They are by far my favorite beers that are out there, but my gf doesn't like them near as much. she likes a lighter sort of ale, so hopefully the celebration ale fits her tastes a little better.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Celebration ale is great. Very hoppy but extremely well balanced IPA style brew. It's not too light on the palate or in color as its almost an amber/red but it's very easy drinking.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I don't like it, either. And it's not because of mixing beers. It's that Heineken-esque bitter foot odor taste. Not what I was looking for in a malty ale.MWB wrote:I tried this awhile back and hated it.
