The pilot held promise, but the 2nd episode was a letdown.blackjack68 wrote:Hated "New Girl". The affect she puts on her voice reminds me of the Amy Poehler character in SNL skit with Horatio Sanz and Jimmy Fallon(?) where she is constantly talking and calling him "Rick! Rick!". Ugh.

What's that new cop show with Maria Bello? Just from watching the previews, it looked like they were trying WAY too hard to make her the "strong woman"

It's actually a really good show. It's not that they're trying to make her the strong woman. She is, but she's also the ONLY woman detective, and gets ALOT of crap for it from the other detectives. She got beat to hell last week, too.shafnutz05 wrote:What's that new cop show with Maria Bello? Re: TV Shows
I thought the previews made it look really good, and i liked the first episode. I'm going to bed now, so i'm not watching tonights episode yet, but the show seems solid. I guess she puts up the strong woman front which makes the character believable because otherwise she would never be where her character is in the show, but they definitely show a lot of the "not strong woman", which also was pretty essential in me being able to like the character.IrishEyes wrote:It's actually a really good show. Watched Suburgatory's pilot last night. Wasn't bad. My wife kind of liked it. Strange seeing the guy that played Lupo in Law & Order in a comedy role. Also has Alan Tudyk, who was the pilot in Firefly.

Huge Arrested Development news:
New Yorker tweeted that AD is returning for one more season which will lead into the movie.
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The creator has stated that his plan is to do 9-10 episodes, featuring one character per episode which I assume will lead up to the family getting back together for the movie.
AHHH!

Great concept, has the potential for good character development, even if the plot itself has a million holes in it.

On another note, season premiere of Dexter was pretty good. Really liked the first episode of Homeland.

Re: TV Shows
aside from the occasional reality show and of course sports, there really is not one show worth watching on network television. when there are shows like breaking bad, mad men, boardwalk empire, dexter, etc nothing on network television is worth the time.
