In other news, Jagr and "Sport" daily will be cooperating during the next season - Jagr has become the "face of the paper" (in fact, they put him on their logo:

and JJ will also be writing weekly columns about his NHL experience in Philadelphia, starting October 6.

Jagr's Journal, Week of December 11-17, 2011

Play many game this week. Capital, Canadien in Philadelphia, Bruin in Boston. Jagr hate flying north, is less place for gamble money. Here is nice, game end, casino fly Jagr to Atlantic City for gamble, but Boston, nothing. Bez práce nejsou koláče, you know what Jagr mean? Is better anyway, Fat Tony tell Jagr to not come back to state before pay Jagr's debt from ruleta, but Jagr have good feeling about bet on, how you say? fighting of tuláky...is like vagrant person...hobo? Yes, fighting of hobos. Will repay Fat Tony from proceeds. Game against Capital, team have Ovechkin, who battery Jagr in Olympic game one time. Jagr watch out for Russian bastard Ovechkin, maybe tell him his mother is děvka, but Jagr does not want to be beaten again.

Jesus, Kippy keep calling Jagr. He tell Jagr he teach himself shoot right-handed for Jagr, if Jagr make Flyer give him money, but Jagr have Jan for that if necessary. Jan very happy to live under Jagr's bed, eat crust of bread and leftover tea, but Kippy always want real food like hot dog, pretzel, and need to sleep on sofa instead of floor. There is no upside in this for Jagr. Sakra, Kippy, nechte Jágr sám!

Last week play Pengvin here in Philadelphia. I text Mario, tell him maybe I come play for Pittsburgh next year, ask if he want to come over for shots of slivovice, but Mario not text Jagr back. Maybe his phone broken. Jagr have great phone, very strong, buy black market iPhone from cousin Misha in Bulgaria. So cheap Jagr almost decide to get one for Jan, but that buzerant probably will sell it for meat, or pillow to rest useless head on Jagr's floor. Why should Jagr waste money for this? Look forward to play in Pittsburgh on December 29. Fan there love Jagr, make big party for him. Maybe is retire Jagr jersey? We see.

Until next week, sbohem! Jagr out.

Jagr unveils the new name, logo of the team he owns. He was able to keep the name of the sponsor out (quite unusual for Czech teams, actually), but the fans are still not happy, especially with the logo. Introducing 2011 Kladno Knights:

(though the better translation of that term would have been "f'in wimp" . )

I'm sure Jagr loved being the main feature on that logo...

Jagr's first game as a Flyer tonight... His final line: GWG, Assist, +2. Most likely #1 star, i dont know, could have been Bobrovsky, betting they gave it to Jagr though...

UPDATE: Also, Sergei Bobrovsky is performing ridiculous so far this pre-season. He had a shutout vs the Maple Leafs on Tuesday, and tonight against a pretty stacked Detroit team, he has only allowed 1 goal. By the way, Bryzgalov allowed 4 goals on 25 shots on Wednesday... Bobrovsky 2 GP, 1 goal allowed on 49 shots.

Well after his preseason debut on Friday at Detroit, adding a goal and an assist, I’d say that’s a big help to his teammates. Jagr, however, refused to praise his play

“I gotta get better,” laughed Jagr after the game. “It’s different… we had some pretty good shifts with some cycling. That’s why I wanted to play.”

Jagr started the game playing alongside James van Riemsdyk with Brayden Schenn centering.

While both he and head coach Peter Laviolette agree with the chemistry that they seemed to play with, there’s still much more work and many more games to be played.

Jagr got on the board with a great play to earn his first assist. Towards the end of his shift, he managed to get the puck to Sean Couturier who put it at the net allowing van Riemsdyk to poke home the rebound in the crease.

Shortly there after, Jagr provided the game’s winning goal by flicking a shot over Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard’s glove with under two minutes to play in the opening frame.

“He’s got a tremendous amount of skill and I thought he skated really well and get into the system,” said Laviolette.

Jagr also played nearly 17 minutes (16:55), which included 2:50 of power-play time. He was a plus-2 on the night and recorded his goal on his only shot.
Mind boogling seeing Jagr in a Flyers report.

I used to hate Jagr, but if he keeps producing like this, you can call this Philly Fan a changed man. :thumb:

"I didn't know how hard he trained," Holmgren said Sunday. "I don't know if that's a change from early in his career, but he's a fanatic about conditioning, about nutrition, about doing the right thing in preparing to play the game."

The other night in his first preseason action, Jagr scored on a wicked shot, but still wasn't pleased with his play.

"We all thought he had a pretty good game the other night in Detroit and he's hard on himself. He said, 'Ah, it wasn't enough, I've got to better, I got to get quicker,'" Holmgren said. "It's actually pretty refreshing and probably shows you why he's been an elite player for as long as he has been."

Teammate Scott Hartnell referenced that goal, too, saying he figured about 30 of those will make Holmgren look pretty darned good for the signing.

"Obviously, Jaromir Jagr, just the name, it's a household name in the hockey world if you know anything hockey," Hartnell said. "Just being the player that he is, you'd think that he'd come in with a little bit of an attitude; not necessarily talk down to guys, but sometimes you have guys with a little bit of attitude that think they're better than everybody else. But it's been the exact absolute opposite of that.

"He's always got a little smirk on his face, just looks like he's a little kid, kind of almost in his first year," Hartnell added. "He's just kind of silent and he kind of hears all the chirps of other guys kind of chirping around."

Hartnell recalled a backhanded saucer pass Jagr sent him in a recent practice.

"I ended up scoring on it and it was just like, 'Geez, not many people can make those passes.' You kind of think he's been out of the league a few years, maybe he's lost a step or his skill, but obviously he was playing in a good league over in Russia," Hartnell said. "He works so hard in practices, he's up in the gym working out. He wants to prove something to all the doubters out there, and obviously for himself, to have a great season and win a Stanley Cup here in Philly."
