Nothing says drunk like Keystone Ice! Go big or go home as they say!
Looking for something a bit more... classy. Normally, i'd just pound free PBR's and hit on college chicks... but this is a special occasion.

Anyone have the ShockTop Pumpkin beer? Not sure of the whole name.

I had an Octoberfest yesterday. I don't see the big deal with it. It wasn't great.

That's unfortunate. I certainly can, but I'm a beer geek.

Btw- the brewers from southern tier are at beer nutz in fox chapel tonight.
Well, I've been known to kill a six pack, just to watch it die.
Lightweight. 24 packs are more economical.

Once you get to that level you change from a Beer "Serial Killer" to a Terrorist.

I'm just not ready to take it to "Suicide Level" yet. Still too many beers to experience before I go. ;)

Same here. That stuff is excellent. It is to other pumpkin beers what the Creme Brulee Stout is to other sweet stouts.

That good huh? Pub up here has it on tap... Guess I'll have to taxi it over there. (or at least taxi it home)

Take the taxi over. It's got a nice kick to it as well.

Yeah, definitely take the opportunity to try it on draught if you can find it.

The Creme Brulee Stout is too sweet for me. The butterscotch notes are overwhelming. When I had it mixed with a guinness it was perfect.

That Creme Brulee Stout sounds great.

Was smashing some Dogfish 60 minute last night and a few Long Trail IPAs.

I like the creme brulee a lot on draft. The bottle isn't nearly as good. Although you can still only really drink one either way.

Thoughts from the Big Pour this weekend (my first time going there).

- If you like beer and food, go. There are tons of good restaurants representing there and bringing some tasty foods to eat and soak up some of the beer.

- The homebrewers had the best pumpkin beer and six point had the best IPA.

- Kudos to the dudes that actually show up from the breweries. Off the top of my head, one of the poureres from Founders was incredibly knowledgabe, and the dudes from the brewery in Chambersburg were cool.

- I'd suggest the first session, a lot of the dudes were getting tanked at their stations in the first sessions, the second one has to be just a freaking mess.

It's only available as 22oz bottles so you won't find a sixer but you should be able to pick up one or two bombers. They run about 10 bucks.

I've seen it at Barley's and Hop's in Bethel park and at The Bottleshop in Heidelberg, couldn't tell you what distributors are carrying it though

ST surprises me with some of the stuff they sell in sixers, though I only ever see it in Erie (Wegmans). They had their Raspberry Porter in a sixer, which prior to seeing it in Erie I had only seen in 22s.

More of an anti-recommendation here....

I was in my local bottle shop last week and saw this at $9.99 a sixer:

Having lived in full-on Polish neighborhoods in both Chicago and Brooklyn, I can tell you that this stuff tastes like pasteurized urine.

EDIT: I've had a about 10 different Polish beers and they were all pretty lousy.....Not sure what the deal is with that.

Okocim Porter is a good Polish beer. Its a sweeter porter, but it is pretty good.

They never sold that for $1 a bottle at my local corner stores. :pop:
In all seriousness, a lot major alcoholism - street drinking in fact - in my old hoods.
It was pretty depressing.
