The only rafters 68 will be hanging from will be his own home. He's dead to us all. Get Leino, Gagne, Cole, Ryder, Brunette, ...it doesn't matter, any of them will be better than what's his name.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
The Pens don't need to do anything to Jagr. He's going to suck enough on his own.
He put up big numbers when he was 4-5 years younger in the "new NHL" before teams adapted with the fast, agile defenses they all have now. He may do alright on the power play, but 5vs5 he's going to be a liability almost every time he's on the ice.

The Pens could counteract this abomination by signing Jagr's dear friend, Jarko Rutuu.

I think I know his name, its Jagr. Silly, I can't believe you'd forget.saints11 wrote:The only rafters 68 will be hanging from will be his own home. He's dead to us all. Get Leino, Gagne, Cole, Ryder, Brunette, ...it doesn't matter, any of them will be better than what's his name.

Seriously... how do you pick the Flyers for 1.3 million dollars more. Jagr just lost all of his remaining fans in Pittsburgh.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
I'm ok with that, i've been dealing with irrational Jagr hatred for most of my adult life, i'm just looking at the "dress our ahl goons" and "keep your head up through the neutral zone" comments. The latter comments are funny because i think he has been one of the best at skating with the puck and his head down ice since he's been in the league. He's also a tank.Troy Loney wrote:Idoit40fans wrote:I feel like i'm at FlyersPhans.com right now. Ironic considering the team the comments are being directed towards.
You do mean all the irrational distress about Jagr not signing that low offer from Shero, right?

This is literally the only team I'd be upset with him sign to.

That would be amazing if Crag F'n Adams skated out with #68.DontToewsMeBro wrote:I support giving a player #68. Would be so hilarious.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
Sorry to say this, but some of you folks can't see the forest for the trees. I moved out of Pittsburgh about 5 years ago, and didn't grow up there - though my 8 years living there were awesome, I'm a huge Pens fan, and I'd move back in a heartbeat.
The point I want to make is that nobody really A) knows about B) gives a **** about Pittsburgh outside of Pittsburgh. ESPECIALLY Jaromir Jagr. You may all feel extremely sentimental about your city, but HE doesn't - it was a minor, small American city and a temporary location for his career.
Yes, he's a greedy sh*t - but you can't expect someone to fall in love with what to them is just another pit stop in a long career of making tons of money for playing a game.
I wholeheartedly support the tack taken by Shero on this one.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
I think it speaks volumes that the Rangers were not even interested in Jagr after he spent so much time there recently and played so well. The Wings obviously felt the same way the Pens did. Holland is no idiot, he and Shero did the right thing.Draftnik wrote:I don't understand why Pens fans took Jagr's comments so personally 10 years ago or why they take his actions so personally today.
I can understand Lemieux feeling like he was betrayed since they were allegedly friends, but there is no way this can end well for Jagr or the Flyers.
Jagr destroyed the Caps for a few seasons and if he stays around long enough he can destroy the Flyers 11/12 season as well.
Part of me just still believed and hoped that Jagr still had loyalty and a special place in his heart for this city and especially Mario.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
Well this is all good I guess. Jagr to phlly makes it even easier for all of us to not like him. He totally ruined his legacy, and won't get an ounce of respect from the penguins or penguins fans ever again. This thread is over for me, been fun. Would have been cool, but in the end Jagr is still an ass.
Game Over.
Game Over.

I think wishing injury on someone, when people have taken the high stance on head shots is quite tasty.
