Since Richie is gone - the Flyers needed someone for Pronger to beat up in the locker room.

The Flyers may be great at some point - but bringing in that many new players, it usually takes some time to mesh. How much time? Who knows, but how much time does a 39 year old hockey player have?

Jagr is taking a risk here - but of course, not financially.
