Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
I can't wait for Jagr's camp to spin this.
"Jagr was going to sign with the Pens but they pulled the offer."
Jagr's in the background counting money going "what? LOL PITTSBURGH?"

Then why did he say he did?Troy Loney wrote:NJ5934 wrote:LMAO.....this almost makes me happy after all of this drama.
What a joke Jagr is.....he wants to win a cup and he signs with a team that just traded its best two players a week ago....hahaha.
And a team that that went further in the playoffs than the penguins....****, it's not like he went to the islanders.
Jagr doesnt owe the city or the team anything.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
When he personally came to the Pens and said it wasn't about the money and that his heart was in Pittsburgh. Then he goes to their biggest rival for about a million more.Troy Loney wrote:Henry Hank wrote:Sold any chance of a legacy in Pittsburgh for $1.3 million. Bravo, Jagr, bravo.
At what point of all of this did you think this was of his concern?
You people are blowing this sentimentality BS way out of proportion.
I don't care that he didn't sign him. Actually, I'm glad, because he doesn't fit these Pens. It's just funny to see the Pens extending an olive branch with the golf invite, with it obviously going to lead to him having his number retired here. He throws that all away for what amounts to a drop in the bucket. It's a hilarious end to the Jagr/Pittsburgh story, as if the first act wasn't good enough.

You couldn't write a better script...it is going to be comical when they play each other..

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
This is too funny. What were the odds that he could have POed PGH more than the dying alive comments and then requesting a trade.
I've never been mad about that and frankly I'm not mad in the least about this, but it is incredibly funny to think he managed to top what he did 10 years ago.

He's dead to me. I hope Orpik "accidentally" gets his elbow up against Judas the first game versus the Flyers.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
this reminds me of when Mo Johnston, signed for Glasgow Rangers a couple of days after publicly declaring "Celtic are the only club i want to play for" and actually posing for photo's with a Celtic scarf. The decision to sign for Rangers was all down to the fact the offered him loads more money.
If any of you have any knowledge of Scotland and football, you will know what that rivalry means. This feels strangely similar.

What's it matter if it's clean? As long as it's early in the season, Cooke can give 'em an elbow to the head.SlipperyRockJoe wrote:Matt Cooke you have only one job this year...CLEANLY take Jagr out.
