I highly doubt he's not in control of his agent's every move. I've never booed Jagr before, but I can't wait to boo his Judas ass each time he comes to this building.66 Fighters of Foo wrote:While I'm dissapointed Jagr won't be playing for the Pens, I'm totally fine with Shero's move. I don't know who to blame, Jagr or Svoboda, but they strung the Pens out way too long. If Jags wanted to play in Pittsburgh, it wasn't a complicated decision to make.
Unless some news comes out that this was a total fumble by Svoboda, it's hard not to think Jagr damaged his relationship with The Penguins, and Mario, even further.
I'm hoping some news comes out that explains why it came to this. If Jagr's getting grossly overpaid by some team, fine. But if he signs for just above what Shero offered him, not-at-all fine.
Jagr helped us win two cups, we didn't part on the best of circumstances, and this whole FA thing has been weird, but you know what.
When the season starts, we will have both 87/71 back in uniform and whether we signed jagr or not, 87/71 will either take us to another cup or wont.

I'm not sure actually if it was sarcasm or not. I just jumped back into the page after missing a bunch. Sorry if I missed it.Idoit40fans wrote:You're making an oddly technical argument here. Wings out on Jagr too.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
The Jagr situation is easy to read in my eyes.
2 teams are going to be in a bifdding war for Brad Richards services the Rangers and Flyers. The loser of that war will over pay for Jagr this season then can go back after the next crop of UFA. Either NYR or Philly will pay Jagr 4 million for next season guarenteed. They have to wait til the Richards situation plays out befor you cna go after Jagr.
Pens can't wait on this situation to play out, Shero learned from the Hossa deal to have a plan B. If we can sign Gagne i would be happy. I think with the right players he can produce 15-25 goals.

I find it amazing how quickly the hate on this board has come out against Shero, calling him childish and bashing him.

If doing your job in a responsible fashion and doing what's best for the team is childish, well, then I'm glad Rejean is childish.darkstar57 wrote:I find it amazing how quickly the hate on this board has come out against Shero, calling him childish and bashing him.

Wings know how to conduct business intelligently without getting bullied by players and their agents.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
What's obvious is your emotions are getting the better of you. Shero extended his deadline for two days. If Jagr wanted this to happen as much as claimed, it would have happened. Shero doesn't have time to talk about Jagr anymore. There are players out there who want to play for this team.Idoit40fans wrote:You're making an oddly technical argument here. Shero has been a consummate professional throughout this entire _ordeal_. The Pens and their fans were pawns in Jagr's game. They played Shero, Mario, the Pens, all of us.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
I wish Ray could have clarified exactly what has happened and not happened, he owes it to the fans with the second best player in the franchise history to tell it exactly like it with all details.
Now we´ll have to speculate and bicker because of that.
