Ron Cook's gloating about this, what a joke. There aren't many/any better scoring options for wingers, I hope he's happy.

I don't think Shero withdraws his offer unless the Pens have someone else to spend the money on. He's not withdrawing to prove a point or a principle. Something's up.

Fire Ray Shero. This offseason and free agency is already a failure and it hasn't even started yet.

There was a bidding war. For a 39 year old Winger. Shero called the bluff, and that's that. Good luck Jagr.

Pulling the offer before FA doesn't make any sense. The offer should be on the table until noon, it wouldn't make sense to pull it before it can even be officially accepted.

I think this is more in line with how they signed a player last year Martin, I think that deal was done before even Noon.

Jagr is such a question mark at this point, there is no way of knowing that.

Kennedy and Upshall are both capable of 25+ goal seasons without the drama. No telling what kinda season Jagr would have had here.

I'll take the grit over the glamor any day.

From the Pens official site:
The Pittsburgh Penguins withdrew their one-year, $2 million contract offer to free agent Jaromir Jagr Friday morning.

"We made what we thought was a very fair contract offer to Jaromir on Tuesday, based on his stated interest of returning to the Penguins," said Ray Shero, the team's executive vice president and general manager. "We made our best offer from the start, given our salary cap structure, in an attempt to facilitate a deal. But now, after several days, with an extended time frame for making a decision, and additional teams getting involved, we have decided to move in a different direction. It was never our intention to get involved in a free agent bidding war, and we have to focus on our team.

"Jaromir is one of the greatest players in Penguins history, and we wish him all the best."

Actually i think this makes perfect sense, Shero put the offer out there and has waited and waited and waited and jagr and his agent havn't said anything.

Shero is done waiting, if you want to be apart of this team, your time has passed, time to move focus onto the other FA
