None of the Wings fans I know want Jagr to sign with them.
I know one... and this is the case. In fact, he said "God I hope you guys get him".

At this rate, we may reach that before a decision is announced.

Jagr needs to consider something. If he comes back and retires here, he will be a celebrated hero again and I believe his 68 jersey will be hung. If not, I'm not sure it will.
If the report is true that Mario believes he is coming, and told friends of his he thinks Jagr is coming, then Jagr obviously told Mario something to make him feel that way.

Then if he does not sign? He made Mario look like a fool in front of his friends/organization.

So not only would #68 not be retired, except for the print media guide and the Art Ross banner that hangs in the CEC? IMO Jagr would then cease to exist anywhere in that building/organization.

"There's a lot more teams now we're talking to," Svoboda told ESPN.com Thursday evening.

As for getting a deal done somewhere by the time the free agency period opens at noon EST Friday, that plan appears to have gone by the boards as well.

Jagr, 39, will make a decision "in the next few days," Svoboda said.

"I'm not going to put a time frame on it," he added.

"Basically we have nothing new and I can't tell you anything," the agent said.

This will come as disappointing news to the Penguins who have been told by Svoboda that Jagr is definitely interested in returning to Pittsburgh where he won two Stanley Cups in the early 1990s.

It's believed the Penguins have offered a one-year deal worth about $2 million.

I just read that too. Not to make Lesky mad or sad, but I really hope that Shero pulls the offer and we just move on from this chlidish drama.

I'm still going to hang my hat on the friends of Mario. It's just last second ploys, he'll be a Penguin.

FWIW, maybe this impacts DET as an interested suitor...

DET agrees to terms with Jonathan Ericsson. Numbers not confirmed but believed to be three years at around $9.75M total

Ditto. I get the feeling Shero has extended his patience at the behest of the big guy, but that will be moot when offers are made to other players tomorrow @ noon.

If Jagr's not signed by noon, there's no way in hades is Shero going to waste any more time on him. Shero learned his lesson the hard way with Hossa, and he's not going to make that mistake again.

Also, JJ needs to be careful here - if he pussyfoots around too long, he may end up with not a whole lot of options.

That gives them 12 forwards, 5 defensmen, and 1 goalie signed with around 13M of cap space left, they still have plenty of room so I doubt this impacts the Jagr situation at all.

If he's not ready to decide at noon tomorrow, it aint happening. Sad to say, but it's the truth. Shero will be moving on ASAP.

"Nothing has really changed," Holland said. "I continue to have ongoing dialogue with his agent. We've expressed interest. I'm told he's in North America somewhere. Beyond that nothing really going on. Obviously (Friday) at noon we're going to look to make moves to improve our team."

Shero told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Svoboda told him that "Pittsburgh is very much in the picture." He said he believes Jagr will make his decision before noon ET Friday.

Someone needs to take Jagr and make him look at all the people on this site wanting him back, all tpb tributes and commenters wanting him back, people on facebook/twitter, and show him how much we want him back here.
