Jagr Watch 2017

Jagr needs to consider something. If he comes back and retires here, he will be a celebrated hero again and I believe his 68 jersey will be hung. If not, I'm not sure it will. As much as I admire his earlier days with us and how much I support him, if he just turns into a typical FA and goes to Detroit for an extra half a million or even a million, then I'm not sure I would fight to have his jersey retired here. He should have enough money to last him a lifetime. I would be more concerned about history at this point.

I'm torn between Lesky's and pens2005's stances.

If Jagr's future financial security is so dire that the extra $500K-2 million matters, he's in bad shape financially regardless.

I think Jagr just said it to try and make a point on how much he respected Mario Lemieux. Respecting Lemieux has really nothing to do with playing for free. I can not believe people are hating him for it and are spending time put Jagr down time after time for it.

What drives them to hate all the time? Why do they need to spread hate?

Oh god. If only Jagr could have signed for the league minimum. I would have been so excited and happy to not have to see my favourite Penguins put down all the time.

Can anyone confirm the Jagr camp has closed for today? My eyes are **** sore from reading non-stop almost for 3 days or whatever it is. Its 03.09 in the morning and I am sitting trying to formulate understandable english. No wonder some of the language I write is horrible.

I'd guess he wasn't from Pittsburgh since his grasp of the English language is better than 50% of the city.

You are completely right. I must be somewhat refreshed when the decision comes and hell breaks lose. I can not express how relieved and happy I would feel if Jagr miracously turned out to be a Pen a gain after everything! I´ll have a sandwich and try not to write anything more before going to bed

Agreed. I never really hated Jagr when he left in 2001. He may have acted immature at times, but he was still in his 20s. I can't really fault him for wanting out, as a competitive individual, it had to be obvious to him that the financial situation would impact the organizations ability to ice a competitive team and win. The team's financial situation was putrid and it was pretty evident that things were going to continue deteriorating in that regard. It was a bad situation for everyone involved. If you want to hate, hate on the ownership/management because the financial situation here was just as much at fault as Jagr when he left us. Hate Petr Svoboda for this dragging on like it has.
