Re: TV Shows
we watched the first hour before it got too late. Had watched part of the pilot of Franklin and Bash earlier in the evening, both are promising based on the portions we watched.eddysnake wrote:Anyone watch Falling Skies on TNT last night?

Re: TV Shows
I wasn't blown away by Falling Skies, particularly the aliens and especially the 2-legged robots - but - it was good enough to watch again.
I like that bearded guy. He played in the Librarian movies.

We watched the rest of it last night. Thought it was good. Kind of weird seeing Will Patton in a role that is not the antogonist.relantel wrote:we watched the first hour before it got too late. Hadn't deleted Men of a Certain Age yet, so actually got through the season premiere this morning. The end of the episode flowed much better than the beginning...
Combat Hospital debuts tonight on ABC. Looking forward to that one.

Re: TV Shows
I watched the first 20 minutes of it and then realized it was a 2 hour premiere and turned it off. It wasn't bad, I thought it was going to be completely different, I'll have to try again later this week.relantel wrote:We watched the rest of it last night. Thought it was good. Re: TV Shows
Wow you call that a good article, he trashes a good show because they didn't tell him who killed Rosie. I guess the show didnt have enough one liners, and techno music like CSI does. =/

Re: TV Shows
Just noticed the supposed Law & Order Los Angeles season finale was supposed to have been last month, yet the last several Mondays have had episodes that were airing on their original air date in the guide. And the still had . NBC's own episode guide shows these dates as well. Guess it was simply airing unaired episodes, and not a rethinking of the drastic cast shakeup?

Watched the debut of Combat Hospital last night. Very good show. Pilot here: http://bit.ly/CombatEp1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Without spoilers, show is set in Khandahar airfield in 2006, and the pilot follows two new doctors just arrived for their first "day" on the job.

Re: TV Shows
looking forward to this:
http://www.deadline.com/2011/06/ricky-g ... ee-teaser/After months of speculation, HBO today officially confirmed that it will carry Life's Too Short, the new comedy series from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, creators of The Office, Extras and The Ricky Gervais Show. The seven-episode series, which will debut on BBC Two later this year, will air on HBO in 2012. Like The Office and Extras, Life's Too Short is a faux documentary. It stars 3 ft. 6 in. actor Warwick Davis as a fictionalized version of himself: a down-and-out little person desperately trying to hustle and connive his way back into the spotlight. Each episode will feature cameos by stars, including Johnny Depp, Sting and Steve Carell, along with Gervais and Merchant playing themselves in minor roles

Re: TV Shows
i'm torn on gervais. the office was brilliant, but extras was mediocre. his podcast is amazing, but that's largely due to Karl Pilkington. his movies seem very amateur. his stand up act used to be pretty good, but now it's atrocious.eddysnake wrote:looking forward to this:

I like everything he's done except for the finale of extras. I have yet to watch the straight to dvd movie "Cemetary Junction", but it sounds promising.shmenguin wrote:i'm torn on gervais. the office was brilliant, but extras was mediocre. his podcast is amazing, but that's largely due to Karl Pilkington. his movies seem very amateur. his stand up act used to be pretty good, but now it's atrocious.eddysnake wrote:looking forward to this:

Re: TV Shows
not sure about that, I'll have to check it out... or maybe not. Is that the stand up that was on HBO and basically consisted of an hour and 20 minutes of raunchy sexual innuendos with an English accent?shmenguin wrote:have you seen his "out of england" stand-up show?eddysnake wrote: I like everything he's done except for the finale of extras. Re: TV Shows
maybe. he had 2 (that i'm aware of). "animals" which came out like 4 years ago (?) and "out of england", which is more recent. animals was really good. out of england made me feel embarrassed for him at parts.eddysnake wrote:not sure about that, I'll have to check it out... or maybe not. Re: TV Shows
Did you guys watch THE SUITS premiere last night? Now that is a show that looks good. I really like the cast. It's even got that hot black girl from Firefly. Much better acting and writing in this one episode than in the 4 Franklin & Bash I watched so far that were so unrealistic and silly with bad bad bad bad acting all over. I was going to quit F&B after episode 2, but I found myself somehow watching the next two which was a mistake. A wife sued for killing her husband by making love? An ugly girl suing because she thinks she was let go because she was beautiful? The short lawyer getting drunk in court and throwing up off of 4 beers? Just too unrealistic, with unlikeable actors. Even Malcolm McDowell is bad. He's annoying.
But The Suits was good. 4, maybe even 4.5 stars, out of 5.
