It doesn't matter if brier had the best game points wise, one of the westerners with 4 points could have won it.

and Turco was amazing. He couldnt have done anythign else to attempt to make this a not awful all star break.

Did they ask a bunch of crack addicts who the MVP is?

What about Nash? Rolston? Sakich? Havlat? Their team won after all!

Too bad they took Briere off Crosby's line and put Shanahan on. With Briere's assists maybe the puck would have gotten to Crosby a few more times to give him a chance to score. I hope Crosby will feel that his Penguins linemates are pretty good after all and it doesn't make a lot of difference playing with the stars.

Obviously this isn't how it always would be, but after playing with ovechkin the way he did tonight, i would be looking forward to having malone as a linemate again.

Anyone else sort of wish they did the All Star game in the summer with the league all-stars against the Stanley Cup Winning team like they used to?

I wouldn't mind that. I also wouldnt mind if they just dropped the all star game and had a 4 day break for one conference a week before the current all star break and then the other conference the week after. That way i wouldn't have to go 4 days without real hockey.

I was intrigued when I heard that. It would give your stanley cup
winners/team more publicity. Didn't the NFL do this for a bit too?
I think it would bring a bit more agression and more freedom
to play the game at the normal pace.

I laughed hearing about fighting majors ...

If Sid can't be snarly, he can't score. :P

about the game:
I love irony...
Jason Blake & Yanic Perreault end up with more
points than AO and Sidney.
If Rick Nash could stay healthy; dream wing for Sidney.
Didn't like marty turco...love Joe Sakic.

American Airline Center, so that's what an all purpose
facility should look like? :)

I dug their version of the anthem, but that song between periods was horrible.
The group was The Wreckers, a country band. They are actually pretty good, if you're into country. But the sound on Versus was absolutely horrible, so there was no way they were going to sound good.

Hey, cut Doc some slack on this one. He's used to broadcasting Devil games where there's a total of one goal all night. He's not used to actually having to keep track of tons of goals.

So funny, I saw those near Sid's stall at the igloo in a TV interview a couple weeks ago and thought the same thing...Sid with crocs...say it ain't so, Sid! Say it aint so!

Well, at least they're an appropriate color and hopefully he only uses them for shower shoes. We cant have our Sid contracting athlete's foot after all.

Sorry for the late replies, but I was watching the game last night and not near a computer. ;)

If you're talking about Robert Randolph and the Family Band, they're hardly a 'bar band'. They've performed at the Grammy's before, and did the Sly and the Family Stone tribute last year. (When Sly had a bout of stage fright and just.... left.... in the middle of the set) They've also toured with Clapton and Dave Matthews.

Giorgia Fumanti was born in Italy, but she's an adopted Canadian. She's a classically-trained soprano. She's toured with Jose Carreras.

O Canada, well both anthems, tunes that should not be altered to reflect a personal style. Hit the notes, get the words right, and show
passion.

Side note, Jeff Jimerson singing the anthem for wings eating concert
here in pgh.
