I still like Newcastle and Bass as well, especially for an "everyday" beer. Sam Smith for special occasions.

Another good summer beer is Otter Creek Summer Ale. Not sure how wide the distribution is since it's a Vermont beer.

tee time at 7:30am tomorrow, nothing like getting a good start to the day with some cold oat sodas on the course, unfortunately the club house selection doesn't compare to the many listed in this thread. Cold Iron City's will have to do, its the American Way.

I am still a big fan of Rolling Rock for activity related beer. Be it yard work, golf, or anything else.

Went up to North Country Brewing (Slippery Rock) on Tuesday. No "sexy" high-gravity beers on, as they simply have to brew so much that they can't spare too much in the way of fermenter space (no lagers for similar reasons...the "light" beer is a blonde ale), but 11 or 12 quality, tasty sub 7% beers, including a 3.7% ABV Breakfast Mild that tasted a couple percent bigger!

We got growlers of the IPA and their Coffee Porter for the draft tonight waiting in the fridge.

It's worth the trip!

Stella Artois is a great lager, but it's only about half as potent in the U.S. as it is in Europe. Alaska Summer is another good one.

If you can find it, give Xingu a try. Brazilian black beer. Wicked awesome.

If you are looking to get into some trouble, make a night of Storm King Stout, it's good and good for you. No light will get through this beast.

Hm, don't think I've tried the Wacko. Magic Hat is up and down for me. I really like some of their stuff, but have also had some awful stuff from them. They also put out so many different products, I'm not sure if it's new or just a name change. When they first came out I loved their Magic Hat Red Ale. They really blew up in a short period of time.

I really like black beer. Magic Hat's Howl is good. I will give this a try if I ever see it for sure.

I think they can work well on a relatively regional board like this, simply because most of the recommendations you can find at the local beer store.

You can imagine how they go on a more national board when everyone brings up their favorite beer that's available only in their small little town....I imagine it's good, but I'm never going to be able to find it!

Had some Otter Creek Summer Ale last night. Not bad on a 95 degree day and I liked it better than Sam Adams Summer, which I like also.

I stay away from victory because most stuff is so hoppy, but, I'll have to give their stout a try.

Founders Imperial Stout is great.
