Can't go wrong with anything Ommegang IMO. Have been to the brewery in person numerous times and they are no doubt very dedicated to good beer. Love their complexity in almost all their varieties.

Enjoying some Bell's Consecrator Doppelbock tonight for the first time and highly recommend! Very Smooth and not too overly strong either. Well balanced and quite enjoyable. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: out of 4.

Was reading the beer discussion in the Pirates thread and it got me thinking that I need to pick up a case of something for a bachelor gathering tomorrow night. Looking for something good, nothing too hoppy (I know its summer, but, I'm a little girl when it comes to hops). I might just got with Troegenator if I can find it in large quantity, which has been my go to the last couple purchases.

Suggestions?

Sierra Nevada Summerfest is solid. Not too hoppy either.

Huh, I've never had. Bitterness units right around where I like too.

Ommegang I think has a tripel (red label?) that is awesome. I'm guessing other people feel this way about it too, because it's been about a year since I've seen it on the shelf at D's.

Anchor Steam or Anchor Summer. I'm a big Anchor fan (as much as it pains me to like something from San Fransisco). I love Libery Ale too, but it wouldn't even come close to your hoppiness requirements.

It's very good. Goes down really smooth and is very tasty with honey. Made in Poland.

Sorry the picture is so big.

this is tasty in small quantities and i'm eager to try it in larger ones. and i'm enjoying Widmer on tap at a lot of bars now.

i had guinness on top of sam adams blackberry with chambord drizzled in. pretty fun drink. like guzzling a raspberry chocolate bar. something i thought my mom would like who likes almost nothing. tried to repeat it with #9 (closest match i could get at the 6 pack near there) instead of blackberry and it was ok but not encouraged

I actually had someone tell me about Anchor earlier in the week. Will have to try to give that a try. Where can you get it around here?

My dislike for excessive hoppiness can be limiting.

I just bought a case of Troegenator, didn't see anything at the place I went that looked worth bumping the favorite going in.

I never did. I have some serious vacation coming up, so I will have to go out and look for it. Thanks for reminding me.
