NEW YORK (AP) - Sting isn't a religious man, but he says President Barack Obama might be a divine answer to the world's problems.
In an interview, he jokes that Obama was "sent from God," but in a serious tone, he also said that Obama was the best person to handle the world's "mess."
The English-born Sting says he's fascinated by American politics and those opposed to Obama. He says Obama's opponents are "aggressive and violent and full of fear."

Very good question. If Sting says so, it must be true. In other news, you are aggressive and violent and full of fear!shafnutz05 wrote:Can someone tell me why this is a news story?

Because Sting is an idiot? Wait, that's not news. And if he thinks he is doing Obama a favor with this he is utterly wrong.shafnutz05 wrote:Can someone tell me why this is a news story?

haha that's one thing I always thought was so funny. When celebrities like this go out and start preaching about how divine and holy the president is (and how evil his opponents are), they are only driving more people away from their own causeGaucho wrote:Because Sting is an idiot? Another good article by Ron Paul. How can people not like this guy? I would love to see this guy run our country, I think he's a genious.

OK, so we've learned this week that cash-for-clunkers cost taxpayers ~$24,000 per car sold and the Economic Recovery Act cost taxpayers - even according to the very generous WH numbers - approx $160,000 per job (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch ... abuse.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). I will agree that there would have been less economic "growth" without these Robin-Hood-style economic policies (if Robin Hood had a time machine and robbed the future middle class as well as the future rich), but does anyone believe that this is a reasonable and efficient use of our $? Particularly when the $ is mostly going to fund public-sector jobs?

I agree about the use of the money. What a waste. At $160,000 per job created, they would have been better off giving every working American, regardless of income, tax relief for property and income earned. That would have increased demand and certainly created more jobs.GaryRissling wrote:OK, so we've learned this week that cash-for-clunkers cost taxpayers ~$24,000 per car sold and the Economic Recovery Act cost taxpayers - even according to the very generous WH numbers - approx $160,000 per job (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch ... abuse.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). But the "plan" of the New World Order (which every President in recent memory has been a part of) is to eventually de-value the American dollar so much that it is equal to or less than the euro. This will force the world to accept one universal unit of currency, and the global corporate and military-industrial takeover of the entire world will be all but complete.

Maybe I misunderstand (or maybe I'm not fully awake yet), but hasn't the dollar been weaker than the Euro for years now?RxBandit66 wrote:

This is precisely how the character of a country becomes fundamentally degraded when it becomes a state in permanent war. So continuous are the inhumane and brutal acts of government leaders that the citizens completely lose the capacity for moral outrage and horror. The permanent claims of existential threats from an endless array of enemies means that secrecy is paramount, accountability is deemed a luxury, and National Security trumps every other consideration -- even including basic liberties and the rule of law. Worst of all, the President takes on the attributes of a protector-deity who can and must never be questioned lest we prevent him from keeping us safe.

When I read articles like that, I feel my stomach turn inside out. What do you say to that? Our country is turning into a police state. It's happening. Right now. There is not much we can do about it. Can't go to Congress. Can't go to the Supreme Court. They're all in on it. Only thing I know of is a revolution, but I feel things will get worse yet before that happens. Every person here should read the full article and also the other 2 next to it. If you don't get angry reading this stuff, then there is something truly wrong with you. Doesn't even matter what Party you like.doublem wrote:http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn ... 11/03/arar

I think I am going to move to Europe at some point. When I'm a bit older. I am not going to live here if this continues. I don't particularly trust the European Union, but people over there are much more educated and active in politics than here. They demand better.

More spin coming from the federal government about their wonderful, bloated, stimulus package. When are they just going to admit that the "stimulus" package was a failure? Their chief economist said last week that by early next year, most of the stimulus effects will have already passed. My question is, when will the stimulus effects take place? This article just backs up what I said earlier that the "jobs created/saved" figure is the most arbitrary and useless figure out there today.
Unemployment is still rising, the dollar is weakening...and the stock market has already started to level off after hitting 10k last week. We flushed almost a trillion dollars down the toilet...and for what? Pork projects to pay off legislators that voted for that garbage bill? I am going to be sick.

Evidently, we are discovering that the indoctrination of our nation's youth around the time of Obama's election was more widespread than previously thought. Check out the link...interesting, and creepy at the same time.

What business does the ACLU have involving any activities not done on American soil? Other than their pathological hatred of the CIA, the U.S. military and any efforts to fight terrorists I see no basis for their involvement of overseas activities other than their self-appointed role of Lords abd High Protectors of all left wing agendas.
