Redwill, so far I vastly prefer it this way, although I was one of the people calling for a slower game and may be in the minority. This way gives me time to participate without feeling I'd have to slough off work or parenting duties to avoid dragging down the village.
On the other hand, I don't think I'd object to shortening the night phases, since they're pretty boring. Maybe 9 or 12 hours, with an extension of up to 24 if not all PMs are in yet, and if the night phase concludes by morning some time, the day phase can end that midnight instead of an almost two-day phase. That way, if the RPs are on the ball and get in their messages either late night or early morning, the rest of us have pretty much the same all-day day phase to play.

I agree the nights could be shortened especially with only two pm's needed to advance to the next day phase since we lost the angel and somehow managed to salt the bird.

I was offline all weekend and all day Monday. There is no way I can be a slug since the slugs ate the sexta and did not convert a villager.

So it seems that salting me either eliminates a villager or an RP.

Still time for the remaining 4 or 5 people to vote for someone else or those that have cast votes can change them.

Day 2 dawns in the garden.

The village inhabitants wake up after huddling together in the garden YMCA for protection. Unfortunately, they had enjoyed a large meal of bread, salad, and manduca sexta lasagna and then put on the Bob Dylan CD Knocked out Loaded. They all soon felt queasy and fell into a deep sleep.

Ah! But luckily, when they do awake and do another tedious head count, they find that NO ONE IS MISSING!

Somehow, they also know that NO ONE WAS RECRUITED!

Apparently, the slugs took a night off.

The garden-dwellers go off to their daily business, knowing that this isn't over. They know they've still gotta get some slugs, if they're going to survive. They start to look at one another, wondering who the nasties are.

Also, they notice that a strange universal anomaly has occurred. After this 24-hour day, the nights will become much shorter (assuming prayers to the "garden god" get in on time...)

Day 2 ends at midnight, with the garden-dweller with the most votes gettin' a-salted.
