Oh don't you worry, there's still Adolfo Carrion, Carol Browner, Vivek Kundra, Nancy DeParle, John Holdren, Cass Sunstein and Mark Lloyd to expose and have them resign.
Meh. Carrion served seven years as Borough President of the Bronx, Browner and DeParle both worked in the Clinton Administration, Sunstein worked in the first Bush Justice Dept. and supported John Roberts’ nomination to the Supreme Court. [And Kundra won the IT Executive of the Year award in 2008. Whoopie.]
If they couldn’t bring about socialism in those earlier positions, I’m afraid we can’t count on them, in the relatively minor positions they have in the Obama White House, to bring about the type of socialism we are all thinking of here.
It baffles my mind how this health care bill is still being discussed...if they still plan on fining people who don't have health insurance. It is such a gross violation of the 10th amendment that it should not even be discussed. There's no ifs, maybes or buts...it is unconstitutional.
And if they're going to cite the general welfare clause, then they may as well take a lighter and burn the constitution into ashes. And then they can get on TV and say our freedoms are still intact...as long as the government feels like keeping them intact.
The Congressional Oversight Panel did not provide an estimate of the projected loss in its latest monthly report on the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program. But it said most of the $23 billion initially provided to General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC late last year is unlikely to be repaid.
"I think they drove a very hard bargain," said Elizabeth Warren, the panel's chairwoman and a law professor at Harvard University, referring to the Obama administration's Treasury Department. "But it may not be enough."
The prospect of recovering the government's assistance to GM and Chrysler is heavily dependent on shares of the two companies rising to unprecedented levels, the report said. The government owns 10 percent of Chrysler and 61 percent of GM. The two companies are currently private but are expected to issue stock, in GM's case by next year.
The shares "will have to appreciate sharply" for taxpayers to get their money back, the report said.
For example, GM's market value would have to reach $67.6 billion, the report said, a "highly optimistic" estimate and more than the $57.2 billion GM was worth at the height of its share value in April 2008. And in the case of Chrysler, about $5.4 billion of the $14.3 billion provided to the company is "highly unlikely" to ever be repaid, the panel said.
More truth emerges behind the media op. for the schools.... His staff got wise and back doored it anyways. Of course the media will push it forward now with a pro platform spin. At least it wasn't subliminally broadcast as required information to america's youth.
The honeymoon is truely over... the showering of gifts and well tidings is gone.... The groom has been exposed as human and the suspect bride is likely in rehab....

The "Conservative News Service"? Well, good thing there's no agenda on that site.
And I like how Obama's not supposed to answer a question put to him about health care. "I'm sorry son, but even though I'm the President of the United States and I have a stand on health care, I'm not going to answer your question, because I'm only here to talk about how you should work hard in school."

What exactly is the problem with this, a Q and A with the president? How is this a negative thing? I know if I were in high school it would have been pretty cool to be able to sit in a Q and A session with the president.
What do conservatives even have to complain about anymore? The public option most likely isn't going to pass, the evil communist Van Jones resigned. How can conservatives still be complaining about how the country is on the brink of socialism? It's a sad state in this country when talk show hosts have enough influence that they can get someone to resign based on nothing.

Based on nothing? Are you kidding? Van Jones was an admitted Marxist/Communist that believed 9/11 was an inside job. He has no place in ANY presidential administration. Think about the backlash if Bush would have appointed someone equally as extreme on the right. If you don't have a problem with Van Jones, then I can't say anything else.

Second, Van Jones was not a Marxist now, he said years ago that it interested him or something like that. The 9-11 thing was silly, but he said he didn't read the report correctly. The man was a green jobs adviser. He wasn't making policies decisions. This was a guy that the Dems should have kept around becasue it looked like he had some heart, unlike most Dems that are cowards, but of course they got scared again of being called socialist and caved like cowards. I will ask again, so what if Van Jones was socialist which he wasn't, but what is going to happen to our country?
Tonight we find out if an intelligent man can find an answer to this problem that will be accepted by the populous and now his own party. When overwhelming odds face you improvise.... Then again maybe many over estimated his ability, lets see how this goes.....

Old history, tried to be covered up by the media and the administration quietly. But the man is gone and was ineffective period or he would still be there. End of the story imo.

No. It's a sad state when stupid people and liberals (might be redundant with that one) can elect a president who has accomplished nothing but make false promises.

Don't worry, when a promise isn't kept, you always have the option of blaming the previous administration.

Ouch, got me on that one lol. Has anyone do those things say in the last 40 or plus years?
havent read this thread at all and i believe it used to be about healthcare but has since been revamped to included all political jibber jabber. we have been discussing this article alot in grad school and i figured some may find it interesting. sorry if it has been posted alraedy. its called the The Cost Conundrum by Atul Gawande, a physician, and it discusses the the differences in per capita expenditures in two Texas towns that are very similar.
Yet another article tieing the entire US system into the failures of Medicare. And the Democrats essentially want to make this program that is horribly run and force it on everyone.
