Official GDT: Pens @ Kraken 2/29/24

Post by DelPen »

Working from home tomorrow so will be here until the end tonight.

Pens all time record on Leap Day is 3-3 with the most recent game all the way back in 2012.

Bold prediction: Harkins redirects a puck with direct action into a goal, just not sure which one.

Harkins scores the "Doug Glatt special," with a redirection off his *** into the net. That's my prediction.

Harkins definitely has cemented his place. Glad we’ll see him indefinitely

Pens might have finally struck some oil with Bemström.

I’m all for adding more young guys who can skate and like to shoot but Sullivan seems to hate those kinds of players. Serves as a reminder that McCaan today is just 27 years old. He was young, speedy and liked to shoot and Sullivan never figured out how to use him right.

Bourque TV is like a totally different guy than Bourque radio. Armstrong seems like a younger Errey which can be good and bad.

Yeah we had to dump a guy who then scored 40g. I don't care what you say about ice time, his role here, what place he was going to occupy in the lineup etc... if a guy can score 40g in any scenario, you play him 20m a night and give him 1L duty. Letting him go because Sullivan couldn't find or see the 40 goal scorer is yet another of the endless pieces of proof of how worthless he is.

Real solid start so the cynical side of me expects an absolute no-show in the 2nd.

Seattle announcers noting Pens energy and Kraken collapsing. Shot attempts are 16 to 1!

Rupper is definitely their top color guy. This combo actually is quite good together. Their beats mesh.

I joked that Hextall had to be fired last year before he extended Dumoulin for 3 years/$10 million but I would take that right now if it meant Graves 6 year contract at $4.5 AAV would not have happened. Dumo is 32 now, Graves will be 34 when this deal expires. Considering how bad Graves looks now I shudder to think how much worse this will be in 3 years.

Listening to the Seattle player names, it's like a former penguin reunion roll call.

I still don’t understand why Harkins has not been sent down and Zohorna given another chance to try to get some more scoring. I understand Sully will keep playing him if he’s on the roster but Dubas can fix that but yet he won’t.

Carts needs to go 5 hole there. Looked like the wickets were open.
