Fan trades

Post by Jim »

More CapFriendly AGL trash. Decided to make a thread for it instead of stinking up other threads. Many of these will be Pens related, but not all, and it is all fan junk, so I put it in the NPR forum.

Vegas fan trade with Pittsburgh:
Maklin for Fleury, Glass, Stephenson, 2nd
His response to a criticism, "I think Stephenson has to be included. Pitt needs someone to "replace" Malkin." So apparently Stephenson is able to replace Malkin?

Carolina fan trade with Pittsburgh:
Pettersson for a 1st
But Pens fans are trading him for a 4th...?

Caps fans apparently think that Seattle is going to take Sheary or Sprong from them.

A Canucks fan did a 3-way trade Buf-LV-Pit
The Pittsburgh portion was... get this...
Carter, Lagace, Pettersson, Joseph for Fleury, 3rd

Not even any retention.

Guess that is the price for the reigning Vezina trophy winner :pop:

CF reactions to the RNH deal are in.

Hopkins is solid enough. He doesn't seem to mind being yanked around the line-up, and he doesn't seem to mind being in Edmonton. He just turned 28 and will be 35 for most of the final season of this deal, turning 36 at playoff time.
The last 5 years he has averaged 0.75ppg, 9.72 hits/60, 1st/2nd PP and 1st/2nd PK
The last 3 years he has averaged 0.83ppg, 5.43 hits/60, 1st PP and 2nd PK
So recently he is scoring a little more, hitting a little less.

$5.125x8 - For his main career contract.

That is less than Zucker, only $250K more than Matheson. It is also a $875K cut from his last contract ($6M).

As of typing, 97 people said good signing and 17 people sad that it wasn't. One genius (A Toronto fan) said "At his age, you don't go to 8 years on a player of RNHs calibre... This is a BAD contract." He then supported his comment with "I mean, better to spend 800k more now than 5M more later" Apparently saying that Spezza broke at 34 so obviously Hopkins will too, therefore causing the end of the contract to be horrible. ... because Spezza broke.

I love being able to call fan opinions stupid and not actually break board rules!!!

Pit fan trade:

Rust (25% retention), Marino, Legare to Carolina for Jordan Staal, no retention.

:fist:

In other AGMs this guy also traded:
Rust, 1st, 2nd, 5th for Tarasenko
Rust, Marino, Legare, 4th for Filip Forsberg
Pettersson, 5th for a 4th

Islanders/Leafs fan did a Pens AGM

Resigns Jankowski $830Kx3. THREE years.

Gives Seattle a 3rd so that they take Jarry.

Then trades Poulin, Bjorkqvist, 2nd to Arizona for Kuemper $2M retained. Kuemper, 31 years old and has done nothing in his career. Only a starter one season in his career. Zero playoff success, etc etc etc. Poulin, Bjorkqvist, 2nd AFTER giving a 3rd for Seattle to take Jarry.

THEN... a 1st and Zucker to Columbus for a 7th.

He wrote this long long team explanation so he was serious.

Not sure who GPMACK95 is, but they might want to consider switching to quality over quantity.

Trade $31.00 for a Penguins 1991 size large Division Championship T-shirt? Trade $35.00 for a Penguins 1991 size large Stanley Cup Championship T-shirt? Trade $95.00 for a North Star CCM jersey?

An antique dealership out west has college, minor league, and NHL wearables for trade for $$$.

Ben Lovejoy's Ducks jersey was available in a trade for $110.00.

The North Star jersey might be the best deal there.

One genius keeps trading Rust w/ret to Toronto for uninteresting depth-level youth and a 2nd. Like a handful of times. Doing a poor trade is one thing, repeating it multiple times is considerably worse.
