The Era of Bylsmagic Part II Over?

Post by Humperdink »

Not saying he is going to get canned, but listening to Buffalo sports radio this morning, they are really down on Disco Dan. That includes media and fans alike.

A fall-off in team points from last year with better players could spell his doom. One expert predicted he would be gone in a week or so. (What would we do without experts?)

I read somewhere prior to the deadline that Disco had already lost the room. Disco might be better suited for the AHL where his lack of xs and os isn't such a hindrance?

Comprehensive article on all things Sabres. A good read.

Jack Flash Eichel won't sign long term if Blysma is around.

Eichel's agent denies that they won't negotiate new contract, but he's a restricted free agent who's contract expires after next season, so he's kind of stuck with the Sabres for awhile, anyway. Might as well remove that qualifier for now. Those articles don't cast such a great light on Jack's character, IMO.

I'm no Bylsma fan, but Eichel needs to be knocked down a peg or two. It's time to grow up and be a professional, not a kid who is taking his ball and going home if he doesn't get his way. He doesn't have tenure and reputation to make demands as it may seem he's trying to.

I agree, it appears that Eichel may be the one who's lost the room.

A side note on the Sabres ......... "Kyle Okposo has reportedly been released from Buffalo General Hospital where he spent time at the Neuro Surgical Intensive Care Unit." The illness will remain a mystery (as it should) due to HIPAA laws.

He parlayed a Stanley Cup championship into a $15 million deal with Buffalo that has still 3 years at $3 million/per left on it. Hockey has been very good to Dano, even with the firings.

Two issues with Bylsma (and Murray) according to Buffalo sports radio:

> The Sabres were never in playoffs since game 1 of the season (never in top 8 in the conference since October).

> The most galling ...... the Leafs, a mere 100 miles to the north of Buffalo, zoomed by the Sabres this season.

Apparently Buffalo had the #1 NBC television audience in the first round. Althought I think that statistic is skewed against cities with teams in the playoffs as their local stations would carry most of those games, so local fans wouldn't need to watch on NBCSN?

I wonder if he will ever head coach a team in this league again?
