Nevermind. Figured out from context clues.Kraftster wrote:Nice, where was that? The BG Breakfast is great too.slappybrown wrote:http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/mikkeller- ... sel/97034/
Had that last night. Phenomenal. Impossibly smooth for 11%. Made with the coffee beans that civetcats poop out (as in that movie with Jack Nicholson).

I like it for what it is. Little heavy on the ABV but it's good

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Is it real sweet? I picked up another case of winter cheers and thought this would be a good one to start with.

Not really that sweet, IMO. Just enough so the alcohol doesn't overpower, but balanced

I agree, not sweet. Has an RIS feel, which makes me wonder if I got an old bottle.MRandall25 wrote:Not really that sweet, IMO. Just enough so the alcohol doesn't overpower, but balanced

Ayinger Weizenbock. I've had this before, but it's excellent. Not too far behind Aventinus or Vitus. I might even be comfortable calling it 1C.
Just poured a Piraat so it's on tonight.

This. I recall that it lacked character, needing more definite taste.MWB wrote:It's ok, but not that high on my list.eddysnake wrote:You guys like Brooklyn black chocolate stout?

That's a good way of putting it. I thought I remembered liking it more, and it has good reviews on BA, but it's not very impressive.Eismann wrote:This. Got so worked up from just dance game that the stout would have been too heavy so I went with way too many winter cheers. I feel like I'm at deaths door today.

That's insane.eddysnake wrote:What do you guys usually pay for growler fill ups? I was shocked when I tried to get a local bar that has a decent list on draughts and they were asking $35-$40. Are you kidding me?!?!? You can goto Southern Tier Brewery and get one for $7.
I can walk out of Market District Iggle for under $10 on certain growlers, but most are around $10-15.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Beer guy at my giant eagle is pushing for a growler station and he's a huge fan of heavy stouts. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. He just printed out an 8 page list of current beers he can get for my brother and said to let him know if we want anything specific. I think it's going to be a good relationship!JS© wrote:That's insane.eddysnake wrote:What do you guys usually pay for growler fill ups? Really like Duclaw Serum. Only the second time I've had it, but it's very drinkable for a DIPA, IMO.

I was pleasantly surprised with Serum. I never really tried much from Duclaw because it all seemed really gimicky (Southern Teir to the next level), but Serum was good. Might have to try more of their stuff.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
It's been a couple years since I've had it... I can't remember if it's that one or rouge double chocolate stout that tastes exactly like a tootsie roll. I think it's the latter. In either way, I recall liking it as a dessert beer. Wouldn't have it with dinner.

If never rally been impressed with Youngs Double Chocolate, but that might be because every time I've had it, I've had it on nitro.
It's a step up from Guinness, but I don't think it beats other stouts.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Had port brewing's older viscosity. It's barrel aged old viscosity and costs a zillion dollars. Very boozy and bourbony, which is good, but there was pretty much nothing else going on. Overall it was disappointing...but I wouldn't turn one down.

Agree. I also find it lacks body and taste.MRandall25 wrote:If never rally been impressed with Youngs Double Chocolate, but that might be because every time I've had it, I've had it on nitro.

Sweet Baby Jesus
HellRazer IPA
Bare Ass Blonde
HelLRazer was pretty good... at least I thought it stood out among a lot of the IPAs I tried at the summer beerfest. the blonde was meh. I know how you feel about pb porters, so forget the SBj if you haven't already tried it.
