I know, right. Don't think of that until I'm done, though. And I'll be damned if I'm going to let that machine beat me, so it gets stowed away with a limply secured cord. That'll show it who's boss.

I grew up calling it a sweeper.
Very surprised and a little disappointed no one has made a Dapper Dan comment yet.Shyster wrote:Use Brylcreem. A little dab'll do ya.meow wrote:When hair gel creates those little white flakes that look like dandruff.

When places like grocery stores or other outfits ask if I would like to donate a dollar to "charity x." Leave me the hell alone. If your such a champion for the cause donate 5% of your daily profits, you jerks.

Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity.....
That's my newest pet peeve. I like Panda Express, and there's one walking distance from my office. But they've started shilling for LA Children's Hospital.... "Would you like to donate...." blah blah blah. I just want my noodles and kung pao chicken. She'sTheFastest wrote:When places like grocery stores or other outfits ask if I would like to donate a dollar to "charity x." Leave me the hell alone. When people wash dishes then put them face down on the drying mat, resulting in no drying and eventual mold because moisture is trapped in there

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Good god, man, how long are you leaving the dishes on the mat?
Along those lines......... Mrs Tif is amazing at nearly everything. But she is terrible at a few minor things, most of which I don't care about, one drives me bonkers. First, she can't cook to save her life. I'm not exaggerating. She makes chili once a year, and that's it. (Altho it is a pretty good chili) It's kind of an open joke with us and our friends. I do all the cooking, and I'm fine with that. She has a bizarre compulsion when it comes to cleaning. If we are having company, it's not uncommon for her to just arbitrarily throw stuff away if it's out and visible when she comes around cleaning. That doesn't sound bad in a vacuum, but in the past she's thrown out letters from the bank regarding our mortgage and her W-2. So it's kind of a big deal. But the thing that really sends me loopy (and for no really good reason, mind you) is that she cannot properly load the dishwasher. I always end up redoing the whole thing. She just dumps stuff in, scattershot. I take the time to put the dishes in size order, and maximize the space. I cannot express the depth of my frustration over this, and it's such a stupid thing to fixate on. I'm as frustrated with myself for being frustrated over this and I am frustrated over this.

mrs. meow cannot load a dishwasher, either. The silverware rack has four compartments: spoons, forks, knives, miscellaneous. She piles everything into the front most compartment so she doesn't have to pull the rack out. Unloading time triples because I have to sift through and seperate.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
My wife does the same thing. Added bonus is she puts forks and spoons in the slots that are large enough to fit knives and, of couse, eventually there is no room left for the knives.

I like to use "Your foldin' money's come unstoled" whenever somebody drops money on the ground.
