Re: Other NHL games
Any "like" I have for the Bruins is immediately canceled out by the *****baggery of their fans. Any time they interact with Penguin fans now, it will just be "AHAH SWEEP LOL". **** them.

Re: Other NHL games
I think it was in the second OT of game 1, they showed Thorton on the bench and he was literally standing in the runway cheering guys on. Why don't they dress someone Julien can actually spill over the boards for a semi-regular shift. They have Caron and Pandalfo as HSs. I get that you need that veteran leadership, but no one scores a goal and says "if it weren't for Thornton cheering me on, I never would have scored." Plus with all the games going beyond 60 minutes, I would want as many capable bodies as possible.mikey287 wrote:Bruins limit their players a lot that they don't trust, it's not really exclusive to Thornton. When he's not playing, Thornton acts an effective cheerleader, even an assistant coach. The oft-cliched/abstract "veteran leadership". Thornton provides that in late stages when he knows his ice time goes down, but he's always ready to go when called upon...meow wrote:Shawn Thorton has only played 4:56. Why even dress him at that point?

Re: Other NHL games
Well...who is that guy? It's definitely not Pandolfo, he hasn't played in a playoff game in four years and only dressed for 18 contests this year in the regular season. And it's not Jordan Caron, he hasn't played a second of these playoffs and wasn't trusted last year or the year before...
So who is this guy that the coaches believe can do it? J'know what I'm saying, mon ami?

So does winning follow him, or does he follow winning?mikey287 wrote:Has played in more playoff games than HHOFers Jarome Iginla and Martin St. Louis...SolidSnake wrote:So if the Bruins win the cup it will be Thornton's 3rd cup absolutely crazy

Re: Other NHL games
Also tricky with a fanatical line matcher like Julien. So now one of those d-men sits for a long time, right? It seems no matter how we slice it, the results will be the same...unless the Bruins get up by comfortable margin...

I am really psyched for this game. This is good hockey. I got a plate full of hot cheese pierogies, a bubbly orange drink, and I'm ready.

Peeair with a new line tonight. Go out and have a blast instead of go out and have some fun? I think he got to his game.

Boston doesn't give up PP goals, they can be as physical as they want.

There are so many players on that Boston squad I would take in a heartbeat, Lucic and Marchand included.

Re: Other NHL games
CBC just now said he took the warm-up...all the line rushes etc. and Ben Smith wasn't even dressed (the first two I'm positive about, the latter, it was either that or he (Smith) wasn't penciled in)Rylan wrote:Why?profpolisci wrote:Hossa scratched
